I feel that the whole situation with the board is sad. If anyone has noticed Mr. Journigan is half white and black. For Mr. Simmons to try and make this a racial issue is not fair to our children. As far as acting like adults well I sure don't see that in Mr. Simmons. He seems to be getting his own racial feeling in the way. If its too hot in the kitchen then you better get out and evidentially he felt the heat last night at the board meeting. As for Mr. Griffin well all I ever saw of him was him driving down 441 heading into town. What exactially did Mr. Griffin do for Milledgeville? As for what I have read in the Union Recorder, I believe Mr. Journigan had been in five schools in four years. That turns a RED LIGHT on for me!! I believe Mrs. Brazil would do a WONDERFUL JOB as superintendent. Speaking as a white female where race is not an issue and has never been, if Mrs. Brazil would accept the job our school system would be better off. Our children would be so excited, just look at what her husband did at Blandy Hills. Baldwin County lost a wonderful employee when he left our system. I think there is too much black and white issues, how do you guys ever expect our children to get over this issue when the adults can't. The Board of Education should be setting an example and fill this position by Mr. or Mrs. Brazil. Why does Mr. Simmons not want Mrs. Brazil on the board. Well I will tell you, with Mrs. Brock and Mrs. Brazil as well as the other board members on board, maybe our school system would run a little smoother. So what Mrs. Brazil is the first black female to be superintendent, I am very proud of her and feel she would be the person for the job. As for Mr. Journigan, I never felt he was right for the job just because he doesn't know Baldwin County or what our children need. We need someone in the superintendant position that knows Milledgeville, parents and above all the students in our community. As for the money that Mr. Journigan should receive, I feel he should receive a salary for setting on kester and not talking to parents. How many parents have tried to talk to him and had to talk to someone in his cabinet? His cabinet, he certainly is not the President and the money the cabinet is getting could be used to help our schools.
