This is my first foray into this world, this particular discussion group. I am, however, 63, and a retired radio newsman, so I am opinionated. And, I am a registered Independent.
It is my opinion that we elected a pipe dream. However, I do hope he turns out to be the best president of the century, thus far...Oh, well, maybe my hopes should be set a bit higher.....and, is able to prioritize to help the country right the ship.
The election is over, Obama is president, and there is no place to hide. He has a near filibuster-proof senate, a congress that is stacked for him. It will not be long before we are able to see that he is the wild, crazed, liberal, or the thoughtful, caring, statesman. Either way, take a deep seat, turn your spurs, because the ride will not be easy.

It will be ok really..just relax and take a deep breath..Obama will get us back the good name of the United States..Obama is for the poor and middle class people...That will be a nice change! To have a president that will be for us and not the super filthy rich people..Give the man a chance....I think he was the right choice for America and it's people..The landslide victory should tell you something..the people are tired and fed up with Bush and that type of leadership...well I should have said "lack" of leadership..
