Alot of people worked at Nitec in those days. Can you recall what position he had, or what machine he worked on. Also, My vote goes for Pegs Subs, double steak and cheese.

If it is the Wally I am thinking about he was a machine tender on Machine #3, as was the guy who owned the Hideaway (bar and grill, ha ha) was a tender on machine #2

Chet was a machine tender on #3 also! Not number 2! Just remembered!!!! My bad!

This Manor Rat you are trying to figure out; I think I read in an earlier comment that he or she lived across the way from Saraceni Drugs near the 93rd street School. That was before they tore that section down to rebuild. I also think the person is behind us by a few years; I couldn’t place in mind whom it is either, so I didn’t try to guess.

Funny we were just talking the other day about how we use to play football, baseball (Rubber Ball) with all those guys from the Manor and how you guys used me for a punching bag. If it wasn’t for hiding behind good old Miles, I would probably have had ten broken bones each time we played. Sure beats the computer games though, we got to know a lot of people and had a great deal of fun.

I use to know a Robert Bassett are you the same one - class of 70 LaSalle.

I have not been back in the falls since I sold my mothers home several years ago. Saraceni Drugs on Colvin & 93rd closed maybe back in the mid 80’s; after the after mass of the L Canal. Nick and Joe the two owners moved on. Nick and his family moved to Canada; that is where he wife was from and their son’s were in the architect business so they built a beautiful hotel up north on Lundy’s Lane. It was a resort style place and he remained involved until he died of leukemia a few years later but last I saw him his was still smiling; and that is how I will remember him.

Joe I think moved to Florida. I remember him purchasing land while he owned the place. Actually after they sold the business and waited on a settlement from the L Canal deal, I think he worked for the other store on Pine Avenue. The store served the area well and he was the only one in the area to allow people credit on their purchases. Great Guys – both of them. Where else could you get cold beer like they had, and pick up a swimming pool on the way out the door.

The building is gone now I hear. After hosting a storage center and pool center for a while.

Yes – Miles and Miles of Miles was the old saying. Miles Winkfield was his name. I heard he had past away a few years ago; not before he won a lottery which he deserved to win.

I remember Miles Winkfield well!! I lived on Moschel and when I had my bike stolen from Saracini's back in 72, he was responsible for getting it back for me. He had worked with my Mom at the time via NIACAP (Niagara Community Action Program).

I loved Saracini's! Many a bag of penny candy bought there on my way home from school at 93rd. St. We had a beautiful console stereo the folks bought from there in the late 1960's. In fact it was solid pecan wood and my husband dismantled it about 10 years ago and used the wood for a beautiful set of shelves. That place was amazing!!

Remember these? They would sell these at the refreshment stand and you'd burn them on the dash.

Where was the Plantation located?

HERE's another one-->> DRIVE In...
What was the name of the Drive In on Witmer Road, between Military Road and Hyde Park Blvd.--I think it was actually in the town of Niagara.
What was that one called?

Wasn't it called the Falls Autoview?
