Rapideers – I think the name was derived from the local Niagara River Rapids commonly called the Rapids. Of course “rapids” means fast moving turns and bends; quickness and so on. Add the “eers” to the word rapid to mean people and you have “Rapideers” that could run fast from the falcons and explorers.

Yep, and you had a Senior big brother and had to do anything the Seniors asked you to do, I guess it got you ready for your Sophmore year when you were able to pledge a fraternity.

I believe that all the high school fraternities and sororities are now defunct in the Falls.

I think all the high school fraternities and sororities have been gone since the late 70's.

I remember Class Day and Battle of the Bands at Duffy. Class Day was great, it usually ended up being Class Weekend by the time all the partying was said and done. The Duffy Dances were alot of fun we had Bob Seger at Duffy my freshman year, plus Weekend and The Road while I was there and local band Beginnings was the mainstay.

I sure do.

Ddin't you play floor hockey and basketball with the same team for both sports? Or am I remembering the old Sat. morning intramurals held at Edward Towne?

Maybe that is what I'm remembering because I seem to remember dodge-ball (we called it "war ball") being involved in Sports Night.
