There was once a little store on the corner of South Ave and 18th Street. Grobies. Anyone remember that?

Cayuga Food Market on Cayuga Drive - you could walk in even if you were 7 years old and say "Mom needs cigarettes" or "Dad needs beer" and Mr. Walney would sell you a couple of packs of the brand he knew she smoked or a quart of the brand he knew your Dad drank.

Is Saracini's still there on Colvin Blvd.?

How aout the 93rd Street footbridge over Cayuga Creek?

If you are talking about Saracini's drug store, they were on Pine Ave right near Pete's Market House.

Well this in interesting, I just ran across this message board and read the message from Cape Code Ggrandmother with great interest, until I realized it was MY MOM. Hi Mom, it's Christmas day here in Dallas and 70 degrees. Tell Dad that Dave and I are playing golf tomorrow... While CCGG and GF lived around a few places for the last 37 years, I joined the Air Force in '75 and ended up in Texas four years later, about 25 years ago. Grew up in the Falls however like she did...

I lived in N.F. until January 1968 and frequented the store you asked about on 22nd street and Pierce Ave. It was called Mike's. The owner and his wife were nice folks, God bless 'em are probably long gone now. I do recall however that if I had a nickel or more, it was worth walking down there. Great candy counter.

I enjoyed finding this link, and sorry about what our Cowboys did to the Bills three times. (Still a closet Bills fan I guess) Take care all,

Leo

By the way I can't be the only "boomer" here. At age 49 demographically-speaking I am in the middle of 65 million others. So, who else here went to 17th Street school in the 1960's? It's gone now, but not forgotten. By the way, if you happened to be a TEACHER in that school, I am better now... really Smiler
