I remember that - there was some kind of a beauty pageant going on, and my Mom (who was a teacher) was the chaperone, so my brother, sister & I were there. I remember the skydivers jumping out of the plane, and then all but one chute opening - we thought that they had thrown out a dummy to scare everyone watching. Soon found out we were wrong.

How about Rocco's on Pine Ave across from Hyde Park? That place must have been contaminated because they bulldozed it and filled in the basement with dirt.

Rocco's was on Pine Ave. & 36th st. Just a little five & ten store run by an Italian family. I believe it was across the street from Fog's gas station.

McGrath And Durke Hardware -

Niagara Heating and Sheet Metal -
Dutch's Welding -
Ashman's Sewing Machine -
White Motors -
Alongi's Diamond Reo Trucks -
Beck's Transmission (just dozed)-
AL Schoen's Garage -

I'm not quite sure of where most of those places are, but I know where Al Schoen's garage was. It was located on River Rd. (Buffalo Ave) at the intersection of Military Rd. Before that he was located across from Goetzman's Hardware, on Cayuga Dr. My wife knew Al and would stop by when we were back there. He passed away a couple of years ago.

Smoker's Haven was a store in the Rainbow Centre Mall in the 80s.

Here's another: Where was Niagara Electronics Video located? They used to rent movies and video games -- before Blockbuster crushed everyone... Bonus question: Where was Coulson's Pharmacy? That one should be easy...

There were bars on first and second street in the late 60's and maybe 70's. Ed;s grill, the glass block, arterial, and so on. Does anyone remember these ? My mother worked there, and trying to find people that knew her, or others that might of.
