Still the best subs I ever had.
I went to 99th Street School with Frankie Viola.
We both lived on 99th street.
Anybody know him ?

Well Viola's is stillopen, but tardibono's own it which is relatives to the original owners. The original owner just past away a few months ago. He lived in california.

We ate at the Viola's on Miliary Road last May, and it sucked.

The one on Elmwood by the City Market is still good, though.

No, I grew up in the Falls eating at Viola's. The Miliary Road location had crappy food, stale rolls and the staff were arseholess, especially the rude bitchfromhell who ran the counter.

The location downtown is still as good as ever.

I have not been back to the falls in 15 years, but it's soon to be on the agenda.

Again, thanks to all.

In reference to Zoundz and Ted does anyone else remember he used to be a major part of the Head Shop the Fever Tree, on Main Street? Him and Wendy where there everyday.

I thought of a few more places, some long gone and some more recent;

Anyone else remember?

The Shutters and Boards
Snoopy's
C&L Brickhouse
The Brigadoon
Hurleys
The Rusty Nail

Slipko's

The J&J's
The Wayside
The Wedge
Juniors Truck Stop
The Press Box
McClouds

The Lighthouse

I have only lived in the Falls for 27 years but sure did have a great time at most of these places...

LadyFrantic

My mother hung in alot of those places, and snoppys I definatly remember her and my aunt Georgia together and Ed's grill, shamrock, etc
What was your moms name, I bet our parents know each other - Snoopy's was like Cheers (the whole bar came to her wedding) LOL

I am new here too & I know who you are talking about,I think, but I can't rmember his name. There was a guy that later ran a club downtown. It had 3 different bars in it. One was a sports bar, the other section a disco & the third one was a lounge with couches in it? Does any one remember the name of that club? You needed a card to get in, they had plantium & gold cards.
As for Shutters & Boards.....rmember that place very well!!

Ever since I read you post, I still can't remember the name of that club. I had a plat. card. They had several basket ball games in the sports bar.

There was a discussion a little bit back about theaters in Niagara Falls. I think two were missing ... the Rainbow on 14th St. and the Hippodrome on 19th.

I thought both the Rainbow and the Hippodrome were on Pine Ave.

Anyone remember Darby's Dan Drive-In on Main Street? Around 1971 or 1972.

That's a new one on me - I graduated from NFHS in '70 and from NU in '74, so I was around at that time, living in DeVeaux, and I never heard of Darby's Dan DriveIn - where was it on Main?

The Rainbow and Hippodrome were both on Pine Ave. The Starnd and Cataract were on Falls street. There was one other on Main St but I don't remember the name.

I'm new to this and was wondering if any of you know my family, the Riggi's. We lived on Woodlawn Ave for many years. I moved away years ago but always return to see family and the old town.

Cheers
