If there is anyone left on this forum that Jethor hasn't intimidated or run off, I'll try to change the subject away from smelly turkey plants. It is so sad to see a picture of Neff's sign being taken down on old hwy. 50. It's been a landmark for well over the 50 years to which the paper gives credit. Does Washington need another used car lot?

Our last family car was a Buick bought at Neff's. Ol' Dutch traded Dad's way.

There's always room for quality & service. Some time back Washington's savviest car-traders set up shop at the old Queen's Drive-In & the traditional 50/57 junction to take the lead in the local industry. Like McDonald's Chevrolet, Neff's will always have a wealth of loyalty around town. A specialist in "imported" cars like Toyotas & Nissans, Hondas & Hyundais & Kias would fill a valuable niche.

My dad refused to do business there.

Seems to me every post Jethro makes you have something to gripe about. You both have interesting opinions about numerous subjects. You two certainly rub each other the wrong way. But that what makes this forum interesting to me. Must you hurt Jethro's feelings all the time? He seems to be a sweet, kind, imformative, sensitive, loving, misunderstood person. Please give him the respect he deserves. Wink

Had to chuckle over this one Biff. Sorta like the question "Have you quit beating your wife yet?"

I don't really want to entertain the forum members by exchanging insults, and many things he says is bait to get people to snap back at him in order that he may come back with his real message. See my definition of a sock puppet.

The only part of him I'll miss by having him on ignore is to not be able to point out his lies. Maybe you can take over that chore for me.

Mr. Biff,
I commend you on your excellent skill of observation. Yes, my know-it-all brother is often misunderstood. You would never know by my brother's posts but the harsh words of Mr. Santiago cut through poor Jethro like a knife. Most of the readers here don't understand how difficult the job of being the WTH forum King actually is. Jethro's dedication to this job is obvious and is performed solely on a volunteer basis with no financial compensation for the countless hours he spends here. I know most people think that Forum Kings have it made but until they sit in the throne themselves, they have no idea of the hardships involved.

Mr. Biff, may I ask how you came by your high degree of wisdom? I thought you might be a descendant of King Solomon or possibly one of those Tibetan monks who have obtained a higher level of enlightenment? I would like you to know how happy your previous post made my bird brain brother because, as you noted above, Keith is a very sensitive man.

Just a thought, but why doesn't your brother start his own private Daviess County forum like that there Randy somebody or other did. Then he can control what posters say, delete anything that doesn't fit his philosophy, limit what's permitted and not permitted, and expel anyone he so desires. Having private messaging is also convenient for coniving. There must be enough interest in the area to support three Daviess County forums.

El Flotador Marrón:
It doesn't take a high degree of wisdom to figure out that you and Santiago are quite jealous of Jethro. With his uncanny sense of what's right and wrong in this world, Jethro is one that should be listened to and to learn from. I personally think of Jethro as a mentor. But you know what, you shouldn't let a difference of opinion come in between what could be a wonderful and lasting friendship.

I find he has an uncanny sense of twisting what's right into wrong, and later, if the occasion demands, swearing that he never said it.

Mr. Biff,
Again, truer words were never printed! Anyone with more than half a brain is jealous of my know-it-all brother and those with less just try to argue with him. I believe I have commented on this jealousy matter previously. It is a cross my brother has to bear. I would like to emphatically state that Keith, or Jethro as you call him, and I have a very close brotherly relationship. However, friendship is another matter and I am afraid that few, if any, of those here meet his stringent requirements.

Having lived in Washington for only a couple of years I never really grew too fond of the place.
I was there during a summer break from my school here in Il. and missed all of my friends there. I would listen to our local radio station from Washington to try to keep that "home" connection. It was a feeling I can't describe, hearing my home radio station and the ads of businesses I grew up shopping in and being so far away-125 miles.
I married a girl from Washington and would visit her folks there often and now that I'm reading about all of the changing of the buildings and businesses I find that I'm sort of missing the "old" Washington. Go figure!!!

I'd wish if he were my brother his wisdom exceeded that of King Solomon's. If I recall he made the unbelieveably stupid recommendation to cut a baby in half and give the two pieces to feuding adults. Brilliant idea!

You really are confusing. In one sentence it is an "unbelievably stupid recommendation" but in the next it is a "Brilliant idea." Besides, it was a trick to see which woman gave birth to that baby. I speculate that it was a ugly child, the kind only a mother could love.
