I hope you will tap into your "creative" side and join in. Get your quill and WRITE SOMETHING!!! Might be fun.

I suggest a new thread for the forum
To be conducted with good taste and decorum
But if ambushed by trolls
And a "situation" unfolds
The rest of us will just HIDE IT and ignore 'em.

There once was a man from Nantucket,
Who kept all of his cash in a bucket,
But his daughter, named Nan,
Ran away with a man,
And as for the bucket, Nantucket.

A Japanese Haiku is a 3-lined verse - no need to rhyme.
Line 1 has 5 syllables; line 2 has 7 syllables; and line 3 has 5 syllables.

FALL

Crisp autumn leaves fall
Red, orange, brown, and bright gold
Cold weather is near

Sunrise, there is a forum I visit which uses a poetry site for their Haiku. Their's consist of 5/7/5. Perhaps you would consider finding a daily picture to submit here on this thread for us to use. Just anudder thought.

A Good Day For The World
Colors of change gather for a very special feast,
lies and other foundations look for empty places,
red, black, yellow, and brown, resistance to the beast.
Fearful and stunned glances, tearstained tired faces.
All the victims are humbled and betrayed by mistrust,
this long awaited banquet is solemn in every way.
Many years of turmoil hold honor in six foot holes of dust,
but this will change soon and suddenly, surely is the day.
The tables set, everyone is waiting in silence for the guest,
the cook has prepared a putrid dish, greeters wait to greet.
People of many colors hunger to sit down and to test,
ahhh! here it comes now, what is it? it's caucasian...............the other white meat!

Song: Love Is A Rose
Album:

Love is a rose
but you better not pick it
It only grows when it's on the vine.
A handful of thorns and
you'll know you've missed it
You lose your love
when you say the word "mine".

I wanna see what's never been seen,
I wanna live that age old dream.
Come on, lads, we can go together
Let's take the best right now,
Take the best right now.

I wanna go to an old hoe-down
Long ago in a western town.
Pick me up cause my feet are draggin'
Give me a lift and I'll hay your wagon.

Love is a rose
but you better not pick it
It only grows when it's on the vine.
A handful of thorns and
you'll know you've missed it
You lose your love
when you say the word "mine".
Mine, mine.

Love is a rose, love is a rose.
Love is a rose, love is a rose.

You're welcome zzt.

SandraJ, I quickly reworked the haiku to be in line with the correct 5/7/5 standard. Thanx for bringing that to my attention!

I hope everyone who writes these enjoys it and everyone who reads these will do likewise!

"I'll Walk Just Beyond The Moon"

My mother and my father
were in love for fifty years
So when Dad died we wondered why
My mother shed no tears
We asked her once about it
But she wouldn't tell us why
Instead she'd just walk outside each night
And smile up at the sky
Then just before she left us
She called us to her side
She told us what my father said to her
Just before he died...

"I remember when you said
you'd never leave me
Through these golden years
I've kept the same vow too
But now that I am going
Please don't leave me..
I'll walk just beyond the moon
Then I'll stop and wait for you."

"You can look up every night
And you'll see me light the light
Where I'll watch for you
To join me someday soon
We'll go looking through the stars
For the Heaven that is ours
And I know we'll find it soon
Somewhere just beyond the moon"

"I'll just set there by a star
And I'll watch you from afar
Till I see you walking
Toward me someday soon
Then together hand in hand
We'll find our promised land
And we'll settle down forever
Darlin'just beyond the moon"

"I'll walk just beyond the moon
Then I'll stop and wait for you".......

Anybody care to guess where this comes from?
I cant read it,write it,sing it,without crying.
I think it's one of the sweetest things I've ever run across....

One Swine Day
I'm tired of tip-toeing around, all around myself. You see I've misplaced my God, and replaced it with something else. I dont wanna say , cause you know if you don't say it , it's not real, but I cant go in silence, cause I think and I breath and I feel. See,the majority of my life I've been in rare form, you know, a couple of strokes below the norm, but I'll empty the pockets of the jeans I wore tonight, if you'll forget yourself until morning. See, I'm thinking, I could love you, the warmest of all your breathing days, and you don't have to give it back, you just have to remember the way...it could make you comfortable...I been feeling this way for going on 10,000 years, I hide beneath the shade of the hand of fear, but don't be confused, the way I act is merely, a knack for finding dark corners...I should come with a warning.
