I want to try this out. Each person can ask a trivia question or share some trivia information. Once a question is answered, the person with the correct answer will ask the next question or ask someone to post a new question. I hope that you all will want to take part in this. Thank you. Smiler

Scalping dates back to about twelth century england when it was done to further insult and already dead enemy.
Later it served to prove that and Englishman or Frenchman had killed a native American and was entitled to collect the bounty offered for such action.
The native American adopted the practice to return the favor.
In Viet Nam it was a way to keep a personal record of kills. The small pieces of scalp were sewn into a belt and worn as a badge of honor. The bigger the belt the better.

Scalping was actually an old European tradition dating back hundreds of years. Dutch and English colonists were paid a "scalp bounty" by their leaders as a means of keeping the Indians scared and out of the way. Finally the Indians caught on and adopted the practice themselves. The settlers apparently forgot its origins and another falsehood about Indian cruelty was born.

Why am I nerveous answering a weather related question asked me by Froggie ? Because he's a meteorologist and is going to be one up on me regardless of how I answer.
I'm going to take a quess, since I'm not really qualified. I'd say whatever altitude the jet stream is.
Now, I'll find out just how dumb I appear to the Frog.
