Am I the only one who has noticed that our local law enforcement people are not enforcing the federal immigration laws. Our town is full of illegals. Has any one heard of any of them getting picked up and shipped home? They are not doing jobs we won't do. They are making big money in oilfield jobs, roofing jobs and construction just to name a few. They send thousands of dollars back to Mexico every month to bring more of them over here, and a prominent local business helps them do it.
Ask one of Mortons people or a city policeman why they are not picking these people up and you get the exact same story almost word for word. They can't just stop people and ask them for ID's and proof of citizenship. That wouldn't be nice. But they can set up road blocks anywhere in town and demand to see your drivers license, registration and proof of insurance, and have you been drinking lately. Is this a strange attitude or what. We have a local FBI office here. Are they just sitting on their backsides and letting this happen. And by the way, these are such nice people. I noticed two Mexican women speaking spanish at Walmart the other day and asked them if they were having trouble with our language. One of them told me to go F--- myself. Am I the only one concerned about this? These people are taking over our country and our local law enforcement people are helping them do it. |

The way I understand it, the department of Immigration is suppose to take care of illegal immigrants. Our local and federal officers do not have the power over them unless they break the law. I know, seems ridiculous. As to the issue of Illigal Immigration, I have this to say. What part of illegal do you not understand. Why should any people have the right to break our law, while others do not
It should apply to all countries. I say shame on Mexico that they do not offer their own people decent paying jobs and benefits. That they cannot make a living for their own families. Shame On You Mexico. |

Well sir, if you will check a little further into this, you will find that by federal mandate, local law enforcement has been empowered to enforce the federal immigration laws. The problem is way too big for immigration alone to handle. There are between 10 and 14 million illegals here, costing american taxpayers billions of dollars to provide them with services that we don't give our own people that operate at or below the poverty level.
And frankly sir, I don't understand your cavalier attitude toward one of the most serious problems facing our nation today. |

And that is the way it has always been. You can't stop the problem as long as we just continue to allow people to hire people who aren't authorized to work in the U.S. Deportation only works a little while, the people deported will only be back or many others will be here to take their places. So, why not enforce the law on the businesses that provide these people a place to work. I know of some businesses that not only provide them with a place to work, they provided them with rental housing, too. |

I don't believe Mcgonser was being cavalier. She was just stating the root problem which is poverty. If you were confronted by the same problems in your life, would you not do whatever to see your family taken care of? Why are the businesses hiring the "illegals"? Will they work for cheaper wages than U.S. citizens? NO, I don't believe we should be giving out all our benefits to foreign people, but I also believe a lot of our own people could do better for themselves. It has to be beneficial in some way for the businesses to hire "illegals." Why else, would they continue to do so? Why are we not prosecuting them? |

Old Soldier: No problem about the name
I agree that the root is mexico and the people hiring illegals. When I have gone to work somewhere they have asked for my ss card, drivers liscense or birth certificate. Should that not apply to all. |

I say shame on the employers who hire illegals. They are breaking the law. If you are an employer who follows the law, there is help. You do not have to put up with other employers breaking the law. EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION AND UNFAIR COMPETITION Problem Scofflaw employers who violate Federal immigration laws by hiring illegal aliens also are discriminating against U.S. citizens and legal resident aliens. Discrimination can occur when a U.S. citizen is not hired, is discharged or laid off, or by favoring illegal aliens in pay and working conditions. Businesses that depend on illegal alien workers also damage and harm honest law-abiding employers through illegal unfair competition. Solution IRLI offers legal solutions to these problems often faced by honest U.S. workers and employers. IRLI can help you file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for employment discrimination on behalf of citizens. As a citizen discriminated against in the workplace you might receive back wages. Other legal remedies are available under federal and state law for immigration-related discrimination against Americans in their own country. Download the U.S. Department of Justice Charge Form for Unfair Immigration-Related Employment Practices IRLI can also help companies that are in distress due to unfair competition from illegal alien workers with legal assistance. As a law-abiding company harmed by this type of unfair competition, you may be entitled to court orders protecting your business and monetary compensation for lost revenue or profits. IRLI legal assistance is offered pro bono or at reduced cost to qualified U.S. workers and enterprises. Answer the following questions . . . Were you required to submit documentation to prove your lawful status in this country while other unauthorized alien employees were permitted to skip this formality? Were you fired because you either expressed your disagreement about the company's policy of employing unauthorized aliens or threatened to file a formal complaint against the company? Were you fired by your company because of your citizenship status? Has your company suffered lost revenue, lost contracts, or reduced profits because your competitors have used unauthorized alien workers to unfairly reduce their cost of doing business? If you answered YES to any of the above questions, please call Sharma Hammond, IRLI Staff Attorney at (202) 232-5590. Illegals shock, suffocate, slit throats in U.S. A showdown over drug money between suspected Mexican illegal aliens in Alabama ended with four men in prison and four shipped back to Mexico in body bags. Three suspected illegal aliens from Mexico and another man have been arrested and charged with capital murder for electrocuting, stabbing, suffocating and beating five men to death in a murder-for-hire. The four suspects were paid between $400,000 and $450,000 to torture the victims with electric shock and slit their throats in an Alabama apartment, police said Tuesday. The murders have been tied to a drug cartel that transports cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana, the Birmingham News reported. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index....ew&pageId=73550 Report this post to a moderator | IP: Logged 08-28-2008 02:04 PM Brat2002 Member Registered: Jul 2007 Location: All my posts IMO Posts: 761 This turned my stomach. When caught, they are not going to fess up to their crimes and probably give the same sob stories of being here for a better life. With the ease that they assume another identity and avoid detection, you cannot accept any of their stories at face value. We've said many times that the screening process for applying for citizenship is there for darn good reason and that has to be the standard for allowing them in. If we didn't have so many instances of gang related drug busts, murder and other serious crimes, we might be more apt to forgive and forget as far as our immigration laws are concerned. As it is, crime is rampant and we cannot take any more chances. Back to square one for those illegals and they get in line to see if they can qualify and go through the process. It's the only way to ensure our security. While terrorism has been a concern, you see by this that the number of murder victims by illegals has surpassed the number of 9-11 victims. Gang members are terrorists. Read towards the bottom of the page, you'll find these alarming statistics: "Crime creeping across U.S. border The drug-related murders came on the heels of recent reports of tightened U.S. security along the Southern border as cartels send murderers-for-hire into the U.S. Last week, Texas and New Mexico authorities reported a hit list identifying 15 to 20 targets in the two states alone. Illegal immigrant violence has claimed the lives of many Americans. As WND reported earlier, MS-13, also known as Mara Salvatrucha, a highly organized and well-funded Central American gang, has infiltrated at least 33 states across the U.S., according to law-enforcement authorities. The gang is well-known in Los Angeles, Houston, New York and Washington, D.C., for excessive brutality. Any person suspected of cooperating with authorities is hunted down, tortured and killed. Initiation rites include kickings, beatings and gang rapes. Deborah Schurman-Kauflin of the Violent Crimes Institute in Atlanta analyzed 1,500 cases from January 1999 through April 2006 that included rapes, murders and child molestation crimes committed by illegal aliens. Approximately 41 percent of the crimes were sexual homicides and serial murders. Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, according to 2006 statistics released by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. If those numbers are correct, it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens – more than the U.S. death toll of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. That's more than 30,000 Americans killed by illegal aliens since Sept. 11, 2001." __________________ Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. ~ Martin Luther King Jr. Report this post to a moderator | IP: Logged 08-28-2008 06:55 PM OvrAndOvrAgn Senior Member Registered: Apr 2007 Location: California Posts: 2171 U.S. may face increased violence from Mexican drug cartels By JEREMY SCHWARTZ Cox News Service MEXICO CITY — Powerful Mexican cartels have assumed control of drug distribution networks throughout the U.S., sparking worry from U.S. law enforcement and experts that the cartels may export the violent methods that have ravaged Mexico for years. U.S. officials say the Mexican cartels operate in dozens of U.S. cities, and analysts say the cartels are moving to consolidate their control of the entire supply chain of illegal drugs. In the Atlanta area, Mexican trafficking organizations control the methamphetamine trade as purer Mexican ice methamphetamine has supplanted local powder meth production, according to the Justice Department. Nationwide, the Mexican cartels "are the dominant distributors of wholesale quantities of cocaine in the United States, and no other group is positioned to challenge them in the near term," says the department’s 2008 National Drug Threat Assessment. The biggest worry for local law enforcement groups is that the cartels will bring with them violent methods honed during furious cartel wars in Mexico that have left about 5,000 dead since 2006. In recent years, Mexican drug violence has reached new heights, with beheadings, videotaped executions broadcast on the Internet and the targeting of top Mexican officials http://www.star-telegram.com/279/v-...ory/803811.html Report this post to a moderator | IP: Logged 08-28-2008 07:08 PM Brat2002 Member Registered: Jul 2007 Location: All my posts IMO Posts: 761 Many of the members of these drug cartels are likely living under cover as some poor family. Remember the allegations of a meth lab inside the Agri plant that was raided. They could be anywhere and aren't going to advertise their presence. Of course, the santuary cities allow them to roam free and police officers cannot question their status or report those that they know to be here illegally. There are too many dangers in attempting to grant amnesty. How many times do the American people have to plead with our government to secure the borders now, find and deport those who are here and then selectively allow the innocents back in? We need more ICE agents and we need to allow all law enforcement to assist in the effort to locate and arrest illegals. We need to start in the cities with the most gang violence. __________________ Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. ~ Martin Luther King Jr. Report this post to a moderator | IP: Logged 08-28-2008 07:31 PM momof6 Member Registered: Feb 2008 Location: Posts: 113 I'am not against our military, my son is currently a marine, so don't take me wrong. If we can fight terrorists like the Al-Quada in Iraq and catch Saddam, then why do we have such a hard time keeping people from sneaking into our country? Our military could take care of the boarders. Have them set up camps all along the boarder for at least a month and see what happens. With all the money we spend on illegals through our welfare system, we would save money and secure the boarder. It sounds too easy |

i READ SOMEWHERE THAT WE SPEND MORE ON GIVING WELFARE TO THE ILLEGALS THAN WE SPEND ON THE IRAQ WAR. NOW I DON'T KNOW IF THAT IS TRUE BUT IF IT IS, THAT REALLY MAKES ME MAD.

I want illegals shipped back to where they came from. I would agree to a worker program where they come, work and then go back. The forestry service does this and it works well. They go get them. THey bring them with the proper visa to the area. They share housing. When the job is done they drive them back. Works well.
