Mr. Buckley, Mrs. Engelhardt, Mrs. Kalish, Mrs. Woodward, you know the serious debt of Avon schools, the weak SAT and ISTEP scores, the poor graduation rate, and the overcrowded schools and classrooms. What do you plan to do in your next term if the people remain uninformed enough to reelect you to seriously alleviate the problems? Two of you and your colleagues have helped to create these problems thinking you were doing a good job. It is apparent you miscalculated. What will you specifically propose to help improve these serious concerns? I am particularly interested in what Mrs. Englehardt and Mrs. Kalish have in mind to propose to the board if the two new candidates should be elected?
Our kids deserve the best preparation, the best learning conditions, decent class sizes, and taxpayers need a formula for paying off future massive debt accrued by our current admininstrations lack of decent planning and wasteful spending. We also need a board that will demand that building growth be curtailed and dependent on existing capacity of present schools and not be forced to play catch up due to unbridled growth. Mrs. Woodward, Mr. Buckley, Mrs. Kalish, and Mrs. Engelhardt what are your plans for a better future for our kids and school conditions? Patrons demand answers BEFORE the election. If you return the same people for four more years it will be too late. DEMAND ANSWERS NOW. THEY WORK FOR US AND OUR KIDS. No answers no school board positions. Call these candidates and demand answers. Mr. Mark Buckley Mrs Michael Kimberly Woodward Mrs. Tim Anne Engelhardt Mrs. Todd Tracie Kalish Post on here what you learn. My guess will be, send us a letter about your concerns and we will take it under advisement. Doubt they will answer you personally or one on one as Mrs. Woodward says it is against board policy for individual members to answer patrons questions. Guess they forgot who they were elected to represent. However, I am sure "The Super" will probably give you a call. Bet you didn't know you elected him to. LOL This message has been edited. These are the two new school board candidates email addresses running for the Avon School Board. I would encourage Avon Patrons to contact them via email and ask them what ideas they have to improve the woes we have in our schools currently.
Mrs. Tracie Kalish-toddkalish@msn.com Mrs. Anne Englehardt-tim_engelhardt@hotmail.com Mrs. Englehard has a web site at www.avonedu.org I could not find a personal web site for Mr. Buckley, Mrs. Woodward, or Mrs. Kalish outlining their ideas for our kids. Mr. Buckley is on record however at the election board website as saying Avon's school board has successfully managed our growth in Avon schools. Makes you wonder what board he sits on for our children. You can see our candidate bios at the following link. Please look if you would. Very interesting bios http://www.co.hendricks.in.us/vrweb/new_page_3.htm click on school board bios and read. Some very interesting candidate statements to digest. I did not include either Mr. Buckley or Mrs. Woodward as Mrs. Woodward is President of our school board currently and says it is against board policy for patrons to get answers for their questions and concerns directly from school board members even though we elect them to be responsive to us and answer our problems as school servants. I would not support her for that very reason. I also would not support her because she stated publicly in a written letter in the Flyer the board had had numerous contacts with me about my concerns and has answered everyone of my concerns to them and that is not the truth. Thus I will not support a woman or man who does not feel personally accountable to those patrons who elected them. They have NO BUSINESS serving on a school board in my opinion. Email both Mrs. Kalish and Mrs. Englehardt and ask them their plans to improve Avon Schools problems. If they can not give you answers, do NOT Vote for them. We need people with new ideas and proposals for the good of our kids. Not the same old sad decision makers we have been getting with the same poor results. Please take the time to make the contacts Avon. These are OUR CHILDREN and OUR TAXDOLLARS. They will also be OUR PUBLIC SERVANTS. Not people who believe they are not personally accountable to answer our concerns and questions personally. PLEASE CONTACT the two candidates and ask questions. Our kids and our pocketbooks deserve answers BEFORE the election in MAY. Don't you want to know what they have in mind to improve Avon Schools? I do. It seems very foolish to vote for someone who you do not know what they stand for when it comes to our children and our schools. This message has been edited.
