According to the estimated population of Washington Township, of which Avon is a part, there are an estimated 30,000 people. Avon schools take over 70 cents of every Avon dollar charged for property taxes in Avon.
With a current debt of 275 million dollars from poor building planning, it means Avon schools has saddled EVERY MAN WOMAN AND CHILD in Avon and Washington Township with an EXTRA debt of 9166 per person.
Our county taxes will be going up with the new reassessment and the town councils asking for an increase in tax assessment from the state.
It is also expected that Mrs. Kalish, Woodward, and Mr. Buckley will join together to put out and advertisement in the Flyer with a list of Avon people supporting them for school board. If this is true, does it mean Mrs. Kalish now is swinging to the boards views and directions of how Avon schools should do things? Do we need people on our board for four more years who have given us the results our school board has given us over the last ten years?
Low SAT averages, 25 percent ISTEP failure, low graduation rate, loss of four star schools, massive building debt due to poor planning, overcrowded schools and classrooms for our kids, a school board that says it is against board policy to directly answer your questions should you contact them, and a school board that is so wasteful, it spent four million on a new administration building while many of our kids go to overcrowded schools and classes, and some even in portables while our board and administration lavish in their new Taj Mahal at taxpayer expense. Is this the kind of leadership you want for your kids and your pocketbook? How deep are your pockets?

Do Avon patrons like the fact that you pay high taxes to live here and on top of that, our debt has saddled you, your husband, and your kids with an extra debt of almost 9200 dollars in 8 years? Don't you think it is time to find new people with new ideas who can do a lot better for the children and the parents?
If not, get ready for four more years of what you have had for the last eight. How much can you afford Avon?
I know I have repeated again but did so in hopes that Avon would say, enough is enough. Maybe this election they will step forward and start removing our board, even if it is just one at a time. Please vote for change Avon. Our kids and our pocketbooks deserve much better than what we have.
