Am I reading this right? The motorcyclist cut around the car in front of him that was turning right and was hit by the oncoming car? What a price to pay for typical Harley hotshot driving.

Radicalred you freakin' pinhead, obviously you must have read a different article than the rest of the world! The driver was ticketed for "failure to yield the right of way" because he turned left right in front of the Harley which had the right of way. The majority of motorcycle accidents are caused by pinheads like this guy driving in their "cages" (motorcycle term for a car, in case you didn't know),and not being aware of motorcycles. Just because you don't like motorcycles or motorcyclists is no reason to take a cheap shot at us, especially when a life is lost. And by the way this weekend when the HOG Rally is in your fair city be extra aware of motorcycles.

P.S. Those "Hotshot Harley Riders" will be pumping a ton of $$$$$$$$$$$$$ in your local economy this weekend...not that NF needs an economic boost or anything.

Man do you have that right....everything you said. And on top of that radicalred says "What a price to pay for typical Harley hotshot driving." You have to be an idiot not to see that the only hotshot riders are the jerks on crotchrockets. No consideration for anyone else on the road, let alone their own life.As far as all the other drivers in cars ....no they do not pay attention for bikers. We almost got hit on Niagara Falls Blvd. a couple days ago, we were traveling towards Amherst and we were coming up to the stop light which was green by J.T Wheatfields when this car was going to turn left on Ward road, just started turning and we almost went down. We swerved to go around the other side of him then he slammed his brakes on when he finally realized we were right there.

That is why loud pipes save lives!!! Most people in cars do not pay attention to motorcycles. They tailgate, turn in front of you, ignore you etc... If you have a friend or family member who rides you should really pay attention to the road. Every summer lives are taken on a motorcycle, usually at the hands of driver who admits, they never seen the bike!! (Which I believe was the case in this accident.)

Amen. I rode when I lived up there and I ride down here. The scary part about Florida is we ride year round not just a few months like in WNY and they still don't see or look for you!

There are motorcyclists and then there are idiot motorcyclists! There are some that obey the rules and there are some that ride like there are no rules, like zigzagging through traffic, riding by twos in a lane, driving where a car won't fit, etc. They are suppose to follow the same rules as cars. I talked to a friend that knows a police officer and he said about the recent accident that the guy riding the motorcycle was driving too fast and unsafely. There is a speed limit on the Blvd where the accident occurred.

I read the article again. Why does it say that charges are pending against both drivers? Why don't YOU read it again?

In case you all missed it because you're blinded by your bleeding hearts:

Plakode was not injured but was charged with a traffic violation, failure to yield the right of way. Plakode was not injured but was charged with a traffic violation, failure to yield the right of way. Investigators said both he and Adams could face additional charges as their investigation continues.

I'm not a bleeding heart, I'm a safe motorcyclist that has been riding for 30 plus years and I'm tired of watching my brothers and sisters being killed by people in cages not paying attention. And then having to listen to people like you who lump all motorcyclists into one group. Yes Adams may be charged as he should not have gone around the vehicle making the right hand turn or speed as stated above by Mr, Sebastian.

I think every one should have to ride a Motorcycle or scooter for even a day on the road and maybe they would be more aware of what is going on around them,i know it sure made me a more defensive driver, after going down three times i finally gave riding on the street too many people that don't pay attention to what they are doing when it comes to motorcycles, now i bet it is even worse with cell phones stuck in everyones ears

Personally, I cannot stand motorcycles, they should be banned from the streets.

Motorcycles are dangerous, they are too loud, all too often people drive like maniacs on them and they offer no protection in an accident to those driving the motorcycle. I really hate the noise and nearly MOST of them drive way too fast. People on motocycles generally think they own the streets. Some people wear these little beetle shell helmets (what the hell is that going to do?) Thats why I hate motorcycles.
