There seems to be a lot of people out there with questions about firearms. With the people we have on this board we may be able to answer some of the questions.
Please no pro-gun or anti-gun comments. Please post your source as this will help.
Sorry about the transposition of the "a" and "l" in Oklahoma. We all know I can't spell or type worth sh**. It won't let me change it.
Let the shooting begin.

Cool JD! At one time I was pretty "salty" at dove hunting and would like to try clays. If were not out of town, I will be there.
This is not for everyone but there is a Machine gun shoot, June 21-22, call 918-666-2788. They have the guns and ammo on hand that you can shoot. This is some real clean fun. Everything from a Thompson to a Mini Gun and you can shoot it. The range is run and staffed by licensed professionals.
Tents and RV parking 10.00$ (no-hookups),and 10.00$ for entrance both days. This is a family event NO ALOCHOlIC drinks!

I recently found out(the hard way) that all of the "spray", gun cleaners will permanently damage tritium nite sight! If you have bought a set you know they cost. What you can do is cover up the tritium with duct tape. The sights for the most part don't need to be cleaned so don't spray in that area. If you do get it on the site, use light gun oil to clean it, don't use solvent like Hoppies.
Brechwood/Casey works best for me. I run about 500rnds a week through my 1911. Just a few squirts and it is as clean as can be, and you don't have to disassemble the firearm! It dosn't take the place of a good cleaning. At the range or in the field is where it works best. It's cost around 13.00$.
JD please post the shoot so I won't forget.
Safe shooting!

With the number of CCP holders in Oklahoma growing (65,000+), the OSBI is getting faster issuing the permit only 6 to 8 weeks now. Make sure you have your information correct and don't forget the little things like tickets for more than speeding!
Safe shootings......BB

For information on concealed carry the USCCA (www.usconcealedcarry.com) has all the info. from all the states that have CC. The OSBI uses this site. The info is correct and up to date.

Hey BB, I saw a tv show the other day that said by 2010, gun manufacturers would be required to stamp serial numbers on triggers, so spent casings could be checked for it's owner whenever a crime was committed. Do you know anything about this or was it all just Hollywood?

******************************* Just Hollywood. I could get into a lot of tech talk about how this can't work but to main problem is the cost and the way powder burns (ya powder). A clue here. If the cost gets to high manufactures can't make a profit and then no guns. Same holds true for taxing ammo. I know the show you are talking about. They make more mistakes about guns than they do with forensics. How many real lab techs carry weapons and bust the bad guys. How about that 100 yard off hand shot with a .40s&w? Remember. Hollywood, for the most part dosn't like guns in the hands of the people and wouldn't know a Glock from the 1911 without a script.

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms … disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. … Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”

You mean you really get to kill a car? Oh, boy! How fun that'd be. Pow. . pow. . take that gas mileage. . pow.pow.pow! What happens if it rains, do you need to bring your umbrella and waders? or will it be rescheduled? With this weather lately, I've learned to love a good mud bog. (hee-hee)
I am a mud-bog woman, I ain't no high class broad, just a product of the weather. I say "hey y'all and yee-haw". Whoops, . . .sorry lost track there alittle bit (wink, wink)
Keep your powder dry and watch that trigger finger, it's r-e-a-l quick, you know.

Thanks but when I want to blow up something I do it like this: 1812 Overture with Artillery at the Washington Monument. Seven pieces lined up in a row to go with the Band and Chorus screaming our heads off. But thanks for the invite. I don't mean to be rude. If I were in Oklahoma I would come.
Marge wrote: I've always wanted to be in DC on the 4th. I love a good march and The 1812 is a great one. Music is a passion of mine. I played the lick-erish stick (spelled wrong on purpose) and marched in 100's of parades and football games for many years. I taught my children music at a very early age, even how to conduct. On the 4th, there we are lined up waiting for our cue and banging our cymbals at just the right moment. Our timing was always great, of course. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. I've always heard if you are going to dream, dream big. So the big dream is: Maybe one year we'll actually get there for the 4th and they'll let us be guest conductors.
Hooray for the Red, White and Blue! (Sorry, there I go singing again)
