How Long Do We Have?

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.'

'A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.'

'>From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.'

'The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years'

'During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;

2. From spiritual faith to great courage;

3. From courage to liberty;

4. From liberty to abundance;

5. From abundance to complacency;

6. From complacency to apathy;

7. From apathy to dependence;

8. From dependence back into bondage'

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

Take (A) the total number of people in the US who do not listen to FOX NEWS NETWORK or Rush Limbaugh at least 5 hours per week.

Divide by (B) the total number of people in the US that do listen to FOX NEWS NETWORK or Rush Limbaugh at least 5 hours per week.

and multiply that number times (C) ONE YEAR.

[A / B x C = time our country has left]

I think you will see a revolution or at least an armed insurrection if the politicians try that again.

But, I could be wrong: the armed insurrection may be fought by BO's new armed civilian defense league (I'd say Brownshirts, but I think that their color scheme is still being decided by Barney Frank), in which case you'd have the 2nd American Civil War.

All I can say is I'm ready. Bring it.

The People need to inform the Politicans they work for us.

But the way the democrats are setting things up right now. That will Change real fast if we let them.

I have been a Democrat all my life, and this is the first I have seen the people used, abuse and manipulated. The Government Raped and Pillaged and a full swing of Social programs to the extent of extreme.

Seeing them give all that money to business they control and now control. Turning down the Auto makers Was them thumbing their nose to the people.

They said Private business is insignificant. That the laborers are less than that. Neither fit into their plans and will end up being just statistics.

It is far more important to keep the Blue collar workers and CEO's in their 500 dollar suits and 1,000 dollar plate dinners. Who make their money sucking the people dry. I guess they donated more to the DNC & obama then those stupid workers did.

Where is the outrage.

Is Your job next on the insignificant list. Will you be the next statistic in the welfare lines.

The auto companies were loosing $25B per quarter, so if Congress gave them the money, they would be back right after the Inaugeration.

A bi-partisan Congress told the auto execs to come back with a Plan in ten days that will show the American people how they will become solvent in a relatively short period of time.

This is the responsibility of the executives of the company, though they will have to work out the details of their Plans with Unions or provide Business Plans showing how they will transition quickly to a non-unionized work-force (in other right to work states ?).

Seemed like a reasonable move on behalf of Congress.

Wish they had done that with the Wall Street Bailouts.

For those of you who actually read, Orson Scott Card wrote a fictional book called "Empire". I suggest you read it.
