...pre request by Wayne Grant. Wink

There's only four days until the Cubs close their homestand with 3 straight wins.

Forced to open a Cubs thread because talking baseball might aggravate Cardinal fans. And there I thought that Cardinal fans were the most baseball savvy fans around?

BZ and Andy...I'm not the one you have to worry about on this thread. I think the Cubs have a very good team. If they get to the series, I'll actually be pulling for them. As far as the Cubs finishing their homestand with three straight wins...they might want to worry about the Astros first would have won 5 of 9 from the Cubs this year. Its just too bad the Cubs can't play all the playoff games at Wrigley as they are a very different team once they leave the north side of Chicago. Big Grin As far as them sweeping the Cards this weekend...it could happen. The Cards have played .500 ball since May. Started out hot ...got 10 over .500 and have been treading water ever since.

Cubs have made some key buys to make an all out attempt at winning it all. Edmunds has been a good buy. Maybe Cardinals could send Cubs some more older an injury laden players. Pitching has been coming thru pretty good. Wish it was October 1st instead of August. Don't give up hope. This could be the year. GO CUBS

There are only 5 teams in baseball that have a winning record on the road. The Cubs are 26-30 on the road however are 41-15 at home. When you play that good at home you can afford to be .500 at home. Same with the Rays and the BoSox.

WE ARE, THE MOST Eeker
Enjoy Hotdog, Edmonds. Really don't like him, but maybe a World Series is in your future, with a little help from your friends. Smiler

I guess I just find it amusing that such knowledgeable baseball fans would take issue with opposing fans talking baseball. Cubs fans questioning the logic of a post brought about a very quick reaction of "get your own thread".

If I came up with a completely off the wall post, that's probably the direction I would take it too.

I'd love to talk baseball with anyone that's willing to look past the rosy Cardinal glasses to see that *gasp* the Cubs have a very good team this season.

Cubs have the best team money can buy. Well, except for the East Coast Sox. Wait till Mark Cuban buys the Cubs. Now, there's a class act.

Having been a Sox fan for 21 years, if Cuban buys the Cubs, I pledge that I will become a Cubs fan. It'd be very handy, I work 2 miles from Wrigley Field.

The 1908 Cubs were the best in baseball that year. Do you think it's time?
