Gas price in Brownsburg on 10/29 - $1.88
Gas price in Greensburg on 10/29 - $2.39

Question:
Why are gas prices so much higher in Greensburg compared to Indianapolis?

Choices:
Price fixing?
Greed?

I agree. Gas prices have been around $2.15 for several days here in Shelbyville where I work. I rarely if ever buy gas in Greensburg, where I live, because it is never cheaper than most other places. I drove through St. Paul yesterday and it was $2.49.

Gas was $2.09 in Harrison, OH this morning. It is always 30 cents cheaper than what it is in Greensburg so I purchase it there.

You mean like they did soon after the 2006 mid-term elections? I wouldn't take that bet. When it comes to certain industries in America supply and demand, hurricanes, etc. have much less to do with profit grabbing than good ole boy politics.

According to the news earlier this week, OPEC plans to lower output to put upward pressure on prices.

Reading into the posts:

1. Which candidate do you think is benefiting the most by the lower gas prices?

2. Which candidate do you think some of the OPEC members are supporting? Would it be unthinkable to believe that OPEC is trying to use oil prices to influence our elections?

I won't take the bet, you already know I can't vote for Obama on religious, moral and ethical grounds. Also my business needs a 10% corporate tax cut, not a tax increase when we are fortunate to make over $250,000.

While some may think Saudi Arabia is Bush's ally, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose country is also part of OPEC, is not an American ally.

My point was that it is very possible that others besides our own government are manipulating oil prices to influence the election to serve their own purposes. Looking at the list of countries in OPEC, I don't see a lot of friendlies.

Indeed
Point taken!
Another thought?
Like you have said your wife did it the legal way!
I want to know how the hell all these gas stations (since this is the gas thread) are owned and run by all these towel heads! How the hell did they all get here? Maybe the wife they was forced to marry had a gas station as the prize on that red scratch and sniff between her eyes! LMFAO! I do not buy gas in Osgood except if I have no choice, then its at CO-OP at 10 cents higher a gallon than the two towel head stations! Maybe why Clark on Linclon has a tough time of it?

It depends on what your definition of "after the election "is.

Ill take the bet!

Wednesday morning, Nov.5th , gas will be the same price it was on election day. Wink

Did I ever say that? I said on many occasions both stink! I have posted misquotes or negative opinions on both {unlike most who post one sided views on here}!
