There was no mutilation. No one was tied to a tree. Not sure why you think law enforcement did very little on the case 612 but you are wrong. Tracked leads down in other states and still followed leads 20 years after the fact.

when I said he was pretty spot on I meant that of all the posts I've seen his info was the most accurate but I did not mean he was 100% right.

I am glad to get the fact of some dates and the
detail of two trailbikers who found the body of
one victim on June 10-11 of 1977. I believe that
was before 'mountain bikes' were popular and I
assume the bikers must have been motorbikes.

Who were these two and what happened to them.
WHere was the body found and what proximity to
the others. 1977 is later than I remembered.

My first post I stated the first incident happened in '73 but my memory failed me. It was actually April time range of '74. The second two were in '77 with the first being in I believe June and the second September/October time range. The two kids that found the body had came down to the forestry from Scott county riding a motorbike. After finding the body they rode back into Scottsburg and notified the police. Seems like they went to a nearby house but no one was home so they headed to S-burg.

His murdered was arrested in another state several months ago due to a cold case team picking up the case and running DNA test on the 8 year old boys jacket. The murder abducted the boy walking home from school.

612, where was this in Indiana and where was he arrested? Can you recall any other info?

Here's a link. After all these years justice will be served. I read this psycho is awaiting trial.

Wow! Thank you 612 for this post. It gives me hope that the cases we are concerned with here really could be solved. It is also eerie because the facts in the case you posted sound
like it could be one of 'ours'. I wonder if there is any chance this sick killer was in Henryville at all? (I doubt it of course but
some one should at least ask).

I want to thank everyone for contributing to this forum. This is just the kind of discussion I hoped would occur. As we see with Kingfish2's
last post...we have the names, dates and relative locations of the victims. I would love to hear from either witnesses, family members or
cops who could say what stalled the investigation and how it might be started again.

It just makes me wonder if since he was put away around that time and things had calmed down in henryville if maybe possibly...

Please excuse grammar and mispells..typing in the dark is always fun

Michael Craig had nothing to do with killing those young boys ! Trust me when i say this ..... Michael may be a lot of things but a kid killer he is NOT !

Yes I do , I know him quite well actually . He is my Uncle . And as i said before Michael may be a lot of things but he would never dream of harming a child . Believe it or not , but even mastermind criminals have their limits ! Perhaps later when i have a bit more time I will elaborate on his personality , but i have to go pick my son up from school at the moment .

If you are a friend or family member of someone
near this case we would like to hear from you.

I am also curious whether there were any reported 'attempted abductions' during this time. The killer was pretty lucky if he attacked
and had success with his plan every time. Were
there any crimes that occurred that did not end in a death.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for all the posters and viewers of this thread. I am very pleased to see the civil tone expressed in this thread and am proud of our community for the cordial curiosity and communtity spirit that is expressed here. You posters, like me, are sincerely interested in seeing that these cruel injustices are not forgotten.

I am very pleased that by pooling our collective
knowledge and resources about the cases and discussing this, we have managed to present a very good start on these crimes. We have the names of the victims, the dates of the crimes, the specific sites of the crimes and the names of some suspects and some names of investigators who were involved in the cases originally.

I hope that some ambitious local detective will
take a look at these files. That would be a heckuva way to make your reputation. I am sincerely hoping that someone with inside knowledge can come forward and provide more factual details.

I have one follow-up fact comment. ONe of the
above posts mentiones a victim was tied or bound
with barbed wire. That is something I have heard too. What we don't know if this is fact or
rumor. I am sorry to say I couldn't answer that.
I DO say that if one of the victims was bound
with barbed wire, it strongly suggests to me that the killer is someone with a rural background. Barbed wire is 'stiff' and would be
difficult to use to bind someone with it seems
to me. (When I was a kid we used barbed wire to
fence in my dad's property outside Sellersburg)
I would imagine for a killer to use it he would have to be familiar with it and feel 'at ease'
using it for this purpose. I would bet strong
dollar that the killer would have first used it
on animals to 'train' himself. Has anyone heard or know of someone using barbed wire to
tie horses or cattle or other farm animals?

I spoke with an official. The investigation is still 'open'. One detective (at least) is still using free time to study the cases. There
are varied theories as to what happened.

There HAVE been items sent to labs in the near
past (I don't know when). There are only feint
hopes of getting DNA or other material due to
the age of the cases.

I cannot name the source but consider the above
info as fact.

I have the impression this case is with the
ISP and Clark County Sheriff. I had not heard
or thought of DNR. Somebody know Mac Spainhour?
Maybe I could give him a call and see if
DNR has it. That seems unlikely to me.

The case was investigated by Sgt. Guy Schroder (retired) of the state police.
