RE: http://www.news-tribune.net/highschoolsports/local_story_304005204.html

I can't believe how our local newspaper supports our athletes. There was an article early this week also supporting Floyd Central instead of Jeff. Does anyone remember the first meeting between these two schools earlier this year. Jeff pretty much owned the game until the fourth quarter. Why is it that we never get any support?

Huh? What?

Last I checked, Floyd Central is in FLOYD COUNTY. I think the News-Tribune is also the "local paper" for Floyd Central.

In the words of John McEnroe "You cannot be serious!"

Yes you are correct but I believe Floyd County receives a separate paper just called the Tribune. And this is not the only case of this happening. It doesn't matter if we play a team 15 minutes away or one that's two hours...our local paper shows no support for Jeff High.

I think they share a sports staff. Here's the first clue:

sports@newsandtribune.com

what is up with Cress anyway? Half the time I read his column and have no idea what the hell he is talking about. I look at the top of the front page and it says "sports", but nothing in his columns ever indicate why. I think he likes to hear himself write! LOL
I'm a Charlestown guy, but gotta give them Devils due! Well done JHS

Your're right chs1968. Cress does always get off topic in his column. By the way, thanks for the support. It's nice to see schools in the same corporation support each other. Charlestown lost to a pretty good team Friday but they had a good season; especially with Metzger being out for a large part of the year.

It would be nice to see a large crowd Friday night for the home team. Jeff is trying to win its first ever back to back sectional titles in football. I think Providence is the only Clark or Floyd County school to win back to back sectional titles. Hope to see everyone at the game Friday to root on the RED DEVILS!!!!!!

Looks like Cress jumped on the Jeff Bandwagon this week picking the devils to win. Where was all this support at the beginning of the season. Oh well, Good Luck Devils tommorrow night. Defend your trophy!!!
