And why does L&N make it sound like they are venturing into new territory? What about their branch on 62 near Allison Lane?

I read awhile back that Kohl's was hiring for the Jeffersonville store. So anyone know where it will be going? Behind Walgreens on 10th and Holmes perhaps?

Ummm... it's already built. Right next to Meijer, facing toward 10th on the far side of their lot. It's kind of a big, brown building with "KOHLS" on the side... |

Are you serious? HA! That's funny. I really had no idea!
But then again, I hardly ever go past Krogers.

Bacon's shut down and moved to The River Falls Mall when it opened. That was some time in the late 80's. |

Well let's not just sit here, let's do something! I bet if enough of us write a letter to Govenor Orr he can keep the bowling alley open. |

ROFL! Funny stuff!
You know, what DID happen around here? We had bowling alley's, movie theaters, department stores (Bacon's, AyrWay, etc.)... how did everything end up in Clarksville?! I'm old enough to know what WAS here and that it's not here anymore, and that many of the old shopping centers like Gateway Plaza, Jeff Plaza, and for a while Youngstown were allowed to go downhill, but geez... I wonder if eventually more of the older places will come back to life. For quite some time, you read articles of how people want places they visit to be closer. I remember reading articles on this way before gas began going out the roof a few years ago. If energy prices don't come down via new technology or cheaper forms of fuel, I think many of these huge corporations will start making smaller neighborhood stores and making more of them. People will be using the internet more for things they can't find close by. The huge tracts of box mega stores will become abanonded eye sores and Walmart will move into all the old mom and pop buildings that they drove out of business years ago. |

L & N Federal Credit Union does not have any existing branches in Southern Indiana and I'm thrilled their making the jump so I no longer have to drive to their downtown location. As of now, they have branches in: Southern Parkway, McMahan Plaza, Dixie, Middletown Wal-Mart, Downtown, Smyran and Old Brownsboro Crossing. |

I don't know, but I always consider that part of town Clarksville anyway...I never think of it as Jeff, ( even though it is), and I'm not that interested in what they do with it...I'd still consider it going to Clarksville...( Maybe Clarksville would buy it from us!!)
I'm more interested in what goes on in downtown Jeff. |

I'd be happier if they'd place something at Youngstown, like maybe a Wal-Mart local grocery like they have in Saint Matthews on Shelbyville Road. Small, but good prices, on food.

I wish I could order my groceries online and have them delivered.
