Hahaha! Good one. Unfortunately the democrats foresaw the long lines in the future and decided to vote early WEEKS ago. It's only the republicans left out in the dark and the cold, says something for the party.

Not sure how waiting until Election Day to vote leaves you in the dark.... It is my understanding you are only supposed to absentee if you know you can't be there on Election Day. So, regardless of party, following the rules does not mean you are in the dark- it means you followed the rules.

As I see it, you need to clear your vision. Wrong about voting only if you can't be there on election day. You don't have to have a reason to vote early in Indiana. All you have to do is show up and vote early. I made up my mind Weeks ago! Left in the dark because they're probably still standing in the line out in the dark, since sunset comes earlier now. Don't be so serious. I respect your right to be "republican" you should respect my right to choose Obama.

http://www.in.gov/sos/elections/absentee.html Here is some more information about voting absentee. I am actually correct. My vision is just fine, thank you.

Anyway, I apologize for taking you literally if you were joking. You are making a pretty broad assumption about my party affiliation. I am not so ignorant to vote based on party. Just so you know, I absolutely respect your right to support Obama. I also respect everyone who voted, even some of those who didn't follow the rules Wink

I missed it at first, and I too thought all absentee voters had to follow all the stricter rules, but the SOS site says that "All registered voters in Indiana are eligible to vote absentee-in-person at the county election board office beginning 29 days before Election Day.".

It appears that the stricter rules only apply to absentee-mail-in voting.

You made a pretty broad assumption that democrats/ Obama supporters could be tricked into voting Nov 5th. But, as you were kidding, so was I. It was nice being able to vote early, a nice day, sunny, and it only took 10 min tops, then I took my mom who voted Mccain, but I feel everyone has the right to vote. We were just lucky the weather wasn't cold or wet.

How did I... OH! I didn't start the forum. That was someone else. I had a great time voting yesterday. No line at my poll. It was a great day for an election. I was especially pleased there weren't 15 people lined up outside to give me an emery board/fridge magnet/brochure for their respective candidate. Without question, yesterday was the smoothest, calmest voting experience I have had.
