I have just received word that someone has driven their car through the front door of the methadone clinic. There are police and helicoptors all over the place. The two people from whom I have received this info live nearby, and one was driving by at the time. Apparently numerous people are injured, and several people have been taken out on stretchers.

There is nothing on newspaper sites at this time, but I have not yet checked the TV sites. Therefore, I'm not sure how bad it is, or whether anyone was killed. I certainly hope no children were involved.

WHAS11 has the story... apparently 11 people were injured. Some were taken to Louisville because Clark Memorial was full or (more likely) not able to handle all the traumas at once.

She didn't hit it hard enough....the building is still standing!

Trust me, the way they threw that building together I wouldn't have been surprised if it folded like a deck of cards.

Several years ago there was a very old building on the northeast corner of Pearl and Maple in Jeffersonville. Drug dealers lived there and sold their wares without interference. A man in his 90s sat on a gas meter all day every day, acting as their lookout. Neighbors begged for help with the dealers and crack whores on that corner, to no avail. This sorry state of affairs went on, and would probably still be going on, had someone not driven his car into the corner of the building, damaging an important, load-bearing support. The building was torn down, and all that’s left is a hole in the sidewalk where the lookout’s gas meter used to be.

Obviously our elected officials will do nothing to control organized criminal activity in Clark County. If only someone would drive into and destroy the JayCee building at the corner of Pearl and Chestnut.

Pat, I'm thinking of getting a new car anyway. You, or anyone else, can borrow (steal) it and run it through the clinic till there is nothing but a pile of bad memories. I'll wait a few hours before reporting it missing!
