RE: http://www.newsandtribune.com/...story_004090227.html
Council President for 2008 Ed Zastawny said council members will meet in a workshop before the regular council meeting to discuss who will be appointed to various positions. They also will elect a president and vice president.

“Tradition has been in the previous few years that the vice presidents takes over as president the next year,” he said.

Connie Sellers was the 2008 vice president. She could not be reached for comment Friday.

“I think that would be good,” Zastawny said when asked if he would support Sellers for president...................................

Does the council really want Connie "mayor I need a job" Sellers to be president?" I believe it would tarnish the honesty and integrity of every council member.

I Ditto that last statement.
No Connie Sellers as president of Jeff's city council. We need someone with more integrity than that to represent the council..

Tom needs a council president he can control, I look for it to happen. I just hope she won't be doing council work while getting paid for being a code enforcement officer. Council work needs to be done on "off" hours.

I know she didn't get a pay raise for the council but what about her pay as a code enforcement officer? Interesting to know since she votes for her own pay. Just some food for thought.

The Mayor and council have stated that no employees will get a raise this year, but there may be a flat bonus to employees in September. This depends on the city's cash flow. Much of the city's budget is based on fees and permits and they depend on the economy. The police and fire members may get a raise, they are under a contract.

It's official, Connie Sellers was voted council president tonight. Nathan Samuel was voted VP.

Peggy Wilder was at the meeting! I guess she heard Vicki Conlin may run against her next election. Too late, the damage has been done.

I would like to know who voted for Sellers as council pres? We have to watch and see if they get paying jobs with the city.
Does the council president get any special perks?

She was the only one nominated, the vote was 6-0, it was all decided before the meeting. Sort of like one of Clarksville's meetings. No special perks or pay, title only.

I would vote for the Tooth Fairy if she ran against Peggy Wilder.
