I prefer the DVE broadcast for Steelers games: less hype, fewer commercials, fewer stupid commercials, no Viagara commercials, no stupid stories about what John Madden had for lunch.

Question:
Wherever you are, whoever your team, what do you listen to while watching the game?

Choices:
The TV broadcast
Local radio coverage
I try to synch up Dark Side of the Moon to the action
What's football? I'm watching Mating Rituals of the Iguana on NatGeo

None of the above. I mute it and give my own play by play and my dog gives the color commentary. Big Grin

I used to mute the TV and listen to Cope, but since he's gone it's not the same.

This reminds me of how much I can't stand Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms as the color guy.

when you have a small kid who wants to watch either a little tube or a video, you don't have much say in TV let alone the NFL.
Having been doing this for the past few yrs. I don't feel like I have missed much NFL or otherwise.Even after the lil one has gone to sleep I find the NFL on TV boring.
If I do catch any games out here it's usually on the radio, eagles or steelers, we get both. It seems to be just as entertaining as TV.
To me most sports maybe except baseball seem to be losing audience share for one reason or another.

The TV volume is on, but most of the time I get to hear my hubby and his buds call the game themselves. I must admit at times it is quite entertaining, and the colorful metephor's fly quite freely. It beats the fellow's on TV and most of the time my hubby beats the TV guys on all the calls which I have always find somewhat impressive, but then he is my hubby.

It was watching last years NFL broadcast that compelled me to turn the radio on. And it's not just the announcers. The complete coverage sucks: No decent replays, lousy camera angles and pahtetic analysis around the halfs (halves?). Are you telling me that after 50 years of network broadcasts, there aren't a few ex-producers and directors who could do a better job than what we're getting now?

As for Moved Away, yeah, and you notice even when the networks flash the cheerleaders for a few seconds, they're always pasting some logo on top of them. Who do we call about that?
