Ok it’s coming upon that time of the year soon and is my favorite time of the year! I have, when I was younger, visited some so called haunted places in Johnstown, one of them being Becky’s grave. Didn’t witness anything strange though except for my friends…..LOL.
The reason for this post is for you to tell your personal stories about haunted places, what you experienced and if you know of any haunted places in or around Johnstown new or old stories welcome, I would love to read them all.
I also have read that the Incline plane is supposed to have a ghost that is seen roaming the hill side, a coal miner I believe. Been to the Incline on many occasions, both day and night and never witnessed anything there either. The TD usually prints up some local spook stories around Halloween, however, I am sure they don’t get them all! Again if you have a story, would love to read it, and maybe go check it out!

I know a young couple who bought a small farm on Verla Road which is near New Ashtola. The couple actually saw a female ghost on several ocassions and had to have an Exorcism performed on the house. As it turns out the house was the home of the late Deanna Horner.

Never heard that story before. Deanna was found dead in a empty rental home outside of Johnstown. Wonder if the spirit could of been her? I have heard that often times a spirit will haunt their favorite place when they were here on earth. Thanks for the story.

The Shadowlands website notes that Brown's Cemetery is particulary haunted, but it's not clear on the location of that cemetery. A web search turns up Brown Cemetery near Vinco, but it doesn't seem to match the Shadowlands description. Anyone know where the haunted Brown's Cemetery is located? http://theshadowlands.net/places/pennsylvania.htm

Maybe I am wrong but isn't Brown's off St. Clair Road? If so I had a weird experience up there a while ago with some friends.

I've had experience with ghosts in Johnstown! Remember an EMT telling me that he heard stories like that all the time...particularly when people were 'crossing over' -- as others arrived to ferry them across...
I have experienced this in J-town more than once...
Have never seen the spirit of Yoder Hill (Inclined Plane area), but have heard of him!

I have heard of this cemetery being haunted and it is hard to find where it is located, obviously it's secluded. It’s hard to find any information on it as well, I came up with nothing as for its location.

Interesting, I imagine that you are not afraid of the spirit?

When I was married, many years ago, my husband and I bought a small house, just out side of South Fork. Located near the former Liberty Park Pool.
The house was about 80 years old. We had some strange happenings there but never saw any apparitions. When we had the kitchen tore apart to be remolded there was an old type ringer style phone box in the wall, which of course we did not want or use. The construction man disconnected the box entirely wires and all but did not remove the box part yet. One evening as my husband and I were in the living room watching TV, the phone box rang 4 times! You can imagine the look on our faces knowing that could not be possible seeing that there was no phone line attached to that box and the box was completely disabled! Also our VCR turned on by itself, and it Was Not Plugged in! Many times our TV would turn on by itself as well and at that time the TV we had was a floor model and did not have a remote control! We also had things around the house just disappear, never to be found again!
A man that lived up the road from where we lived told my husband in a conversation one day something about a baby dying in that house. Apparently there was a hunter in the woods near by that shot at something while hunting and the bullet went through the window of the room of the house where the baby was. I don’t know how true that is and my husband did not get much detail he shrugged it off I assume, so when I questioned him about it he did not know much about what the guy had said.
I tried doing a bit of research, as in, trying to look for story archives about that incident, but did not find anything and did not know where to look really. Does anyone know a place on the internet to look up information such as this. Or would I have to go to a library to search records. Just would like to know if that was a true story the man told my husband as it could of explained some of the strange things that happened in that house.
By the way we no longer live in that house. We only lived there for 7 years.
