I was listening to Jan Michelson Friday when they stated talking about "OUR" own Eric Palmer. They were talking about the "GILL EFFECT". This I hope this is all is where a group of Gay Rights Activists Financially support lower level state campaign races. I was wondering WHY people from outside the state would care who is elected to our state government unless they hope for special considerations when there cause comes up for a VOTE.If they are expecting a "FAVOR' SHAME ON THEM. If the candidates accept their donations SHAME ON YOU! I HOPE THIS IS BIG MISTAKE BUT CHECK OUT THESE websites for yourself and Call Eric http://www.letusvoteiowa.org/campaigncontributionsOct08.html

What a shame this Election Year is. That anyone would smear a good church going, family man like Mr Palmer boggles my mind. Is there no other way for Mr Carroll to win? So that he feels a smear campaign is the only thing he can do. Not a Christian act. When one professes to be a Christian it would help to act like one. Mr Palmer deserves the support of his community and friends.

Oh by the way the last tv ad I saw Eric's kids said he cut taxes a lot????? WHICH TAXES AND WHEN!!!!!! I would support Eric if he would vote the same way he Talks, but I guess that politics !!!!!!

This type of comment does not even deserve an answer.
The writer is too bigoted to see any other point of view.

Es-Press is right. The "Christian" mudslingers operate under the premise that if we say these slurs long enough and loud enough, we will sway the voters enough to win. Well, I say Enough! True Christians do not hate. And I see hate in the Carroll and the Ultra Right thinking "Christians". Eric Palmer has not sunk to their level. That He and the other Democratic Legislators do not answer the hateful "surveys" is not a sign of weakness in their messages. Rather, it is the hope that true believers in democracy will see through this ploy and see that the questions are posed in a "have you stopped beating your wife" way.

I'm not sure about the MUDSLINGERS BUT we were handed these AT CHURCH, NOT AT THE MALL PARKING LOT. They are all to the point and reasonable QUESTIONS. Are you saying that the OUT OF STATE GAY RIGHTS DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO ERIC AND THE OTHER DEM ON THE SITE, (IF THE REP. TOOK MONEY THEY SHOULD ALSO BE CRITICIZED FOR DOING SO) , OR THAT IT IS OK TO TAKE FROM THESE PEOPLE AND THAT THEY WILL NOT EXPECT ANY CONSIDERATIONS IN VOTING.

That is NOT what this is about, it's about telling people what they want to hear when running for office and THEN IGNORING IT ALL WHEN THEY ARE AT THE STATE HOUSE. OH BY THE WAY, NO ONE WILL ANSWER WHICH TAXES ERIC CUT WHILE IN OFFICE. It is one thing for a candidate to do that, BUT DON"T USE YOUR KIDS TO TRY TO CONVINCE EVERYONE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to the original posted sites that said it proved that the democrats had taken thousands of dollars of gay/lesbian money. What I found was a list of donors and not one had a big red G/L beside their name or anywhere else. How do we know that all of these people are gay/lesbian donors? I doubt that many people add the dreaded red G/L to their checks. Anyone can pick and choose donor names, make a list and then declare these are unfit donors. This does not make it gospel. The only thing we know for sure is their names, amount and state. If you want to take the time and money to check each one out…go do that. Most have neither the time, the money or the inclination to do that and I am fairly sure the candidates do not either. Let the ethics board decide what is a good and legal donation. They are far better equipped to do that than any of us.

By the way "fast", either you are shouting most of the time or your caps lock is stuck. Fix it. On line shouting is considered rude.

So if your handed pamphlets at church it makes them more credable?? So what if campaign money is accepted from out of state organizations, its legal. Danny Carroll has always been a mudslinger, you knew very well after last campaign when he apoligized for his tactics he was setting himself up to run again. And people are going to have to realize the country is run on "rights". I don't care what you believe in your home or place of worship people have civil rights, and marriage is one of them. If political leaders vore for same sex marriage it doesn't mean promotion of gay marriage is voting for our civil rights. If were going to run this country on religious beliefs then which religion are we going to use??? And by the way if were going to go this route are youu going to tell your wife or significant other she cant vote then? We might as well follow it all the way.

OK Guys, Let's all get over it. None of us are so pure that we haven't at some time said or done something we are sorry for. This country was built on Freedom of Speech, and Life and Religion. We all need to Vote for the person of our choice and learn to live in a Christian or What ever God you worship
way. Tolerance and peace of mind are what we need and this nasty back biting and general hate is unbecoming to any American.
