In an effort to bring some order to our disussions, and permit the pursuit of legitimate dialogue without distractions, I offer the following thread. All of us must agree that on this thread, no reply will be given to "ignored posters" until such demonstrate a level of maturity whereby a reply can be earnestly given.
Do I have any takers? Ya'akov |

Why don't you just start your own forum. That way you can prove anything you like, and boot anybody who quotes Galatians. At least you'd be happy, at least for now.

You must be new here. Rabbi is reserved for Jesus ONLY. Matthew 23:8 (NKJV) But you, do not be called 'Rabbi'; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. |

Might the same be said of you, Duck? Why don't you start your own forum so you can preach the way you want to anyone who wants to read it?

Hey Piper,
I enjoy your posts alot. I have no clue weather I am an Ignored poster or not. I Know Pate has said he has me on ignore and has for quite some time. I generaly enjoy the religious part of the forums, And I try to post on topic and am usualy sincere about what I have to say and post. I realise I am disliked by alot of the posaters on this part of the forums because they disagree with some of my Choices. But I just wanted you to know I really enjoy your posts even if I do not always comment I do read them and I have learned a great deal about Judeo Christian roots from you, so I say start any thread you like I will always enjoy reading your posts. |

It has been a stretch calling these "religious" but this one has held together without being totally overrun by athiests and anti-christ as have Enid and Kokomo.
I enjoy learning from Piper's perspective and we all should be willing to recognize that for the Bible to be true, it must ALL be true. This poses a problem for the "one verse" christians that find one that they like and beat everyone over the head with it even though it may not agree with other scripture. If the Bible is the Word of God, why would He disagree with Himself? I do believe there are parts that deserve more reverence and attention than others as the words of the prophets that came directly from God and the words of Christ are the confirmation of everything else and twisting the words of Paul to annul the words of Christ is just plain wrong as some do. My personal judgment is that If Christ came to fulfil (complete) the law, we must learn and understand what He taught in order to understand the law. I believe it is a good thing to discuss the scriptures and if we are Christian the words of Christ must be the test that we place on our understanding of other interpretations. This is exactly what He did daily in the Synagogues by teaching from the scriptures and revealing the true intent of OT prophecies and teaching including the law. To be a Christian means we must follow His words and actions. Paul's words have been the most abused and distorted of any of the new church leaders and one must realize that he was a lawyer of the highest degree and never was able to let go of the "lawyer" way of writing and speaking which is always ambiguous and can be twisted easily. Paul repeatedly rebuked those that twisted his words and would do the same today. The words of Christ were to exist forever for the purpose of our enlightenment and discernment. Give to the needy, help the hurting, lead the lost, know the Master. |
