Advice to Christians: Defend life, prepare for persecution

I so agree w/this article. We, as a church, have given ourselves over to the standards of the world instead of GOD.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, believes Senator Obama was elected, in large part, because the church in America has failed to address sin in its own ranks and also in society.

Obama stated during the presidential campaign that one of his top priorities upon taking office would be to sign the Freedom of Choice Act. Perkins says Christians will have to be resolute in defense of what they know to be right.

1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

1Jo 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Try this one:

Mohler on Obama Election

I find it to be an equally firm defense of life, that is more fair toward the President-elect, and the historic nature of his election.

Here's a money quote:

"(W)e must commit ourselves to pray for this new President, for his wife and family, for his administration, and for the nation. We are commanded to pray for rulers, and this new President faces challenges that are not only daunting but potentially disastrous. May God grant him wisdom. He and his family will face new challenges and the pressures of this office. May God protect them, give them joy in their family life, and hold them close together."

Also, a little persecution, I think, is just what the church needs. It'll seperate the wheat from the chaff. Just remember though, we as American Christians aren't remotely close to understanding persecution as Paul and the early Christians understood it, or as Christians in Iran or China understand it even today, and it's not likely we will have to deal with such persecution in the near future.

If the time ever comes when America shall go to pieces, it will...{be} from...losing sight of the fact that "Righteousness exalteth a nation, but that sin is a reproach to any people"...Unless we hold...to these great fundamental principles of righteousness, America will be only a covenant with death and an agreement with hell. Rev Francis Grimke (1850-1937) Minister of the Gospel

Oh for pete's sake! Why don't you and duckybill get together, you're cut from the same cloth. You'd be like James Carvel and Mary Matlin.

Well, that is again from tradition. The human mind can only associate small things. My name indicates Christmas no more than yours indicates you have a Duckbill.

You're no more Christian than Saddam Hussein had a fair trial, you old hateful dominionists...

You are a person who worships a god with no son and are clueless about christ's teachings of love, compassion, tolerance and nonjudgement..you'd go INSANE having to be Christian..as opposed to your current status of just drinking yourself into posting stupid comments from braindead dominionists sites.

The Southern Baptist leader has additional advice for his fellow Christians. "I think that we need to stay consistent with our message of family values and the sanctity of human life -- and we need to find attractive and articulate candidates who will go out and make those cases," he says.

With such a shallow expression of Christian values no wonder we are in trouble.
