Apparently uncomfortable w/ Hall & Oates' injunction to Smile, Sarah Palin could only manage to smirk & slyly wink at America during Thursday nite's debate. What a sourpuss.

Politics aside, Jovial Joe Biden & Bubbly Barack Obama present far more pleasant personalities than Scowling John McCain & Sneering Sarah Palin have shown of themselves after two joint appearances, w/ two to go.

I don't vote for a president/VP because they're "jovial & bubbly." A "pleasant personality" is the least of my concerns. I want a president/VP who can get our economy back on track, protect us, cut government spending, and get the job done. The problem with many Americans is that they only vote for who they "like." Voters need to be informed and not just vote for personalities.

I just wonder what debate you were watching because I never saw Palin "sneer." Do I agree the winking was alittle silly, absolutely. Let's put you on national television and fire questions like that at you and see what your face looks like. I thought both candidates (Biden & Palin) did well.

And aside from the lack of substance of the answers that she chose to give, there was that reference to her agreement with Dick Cheney that the VP does have powers in the legislative branch of government that should give everyone pause!

I don't really see what is false about saying the VP doesn't have powers in the legislative branch. It could be said the VP is the most important Senator in the Upper House. John Adams casted 29 tie breaking votes as VP in the Senate. Wouldn't you say that is pretty powerful? Cheney has casted 8 tie-breakers.

What should really give everyone pause is Biden statement. "Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that's the Executive Branch."

Here's a little homework assignment bud, look up what exactly is in Article I. Is it devoted to the Executive Branch?

Yes, the VP's only duty in the Senate is to break a tie vote. I think the concern is that she seems to agree with Cheney's role in promoting the propaganda that took us into the never-ending occupation of Iraq & other back-room arm twisting that he's engaged in. I kinda doubt that McCain believes that he needs Sarah to be his puppetmaster, but who knows?

Since & despite being schooled by Biden in the debate, Palin has continued to belch baloney about the Vice-Presidency, declaring recently that the Veep "runs the Senate" as if licking her chops for a fiefdom like the library in Wasilla.

One thing's for certain: Palin plans to use this big break to take a whack at a run for the Presidency in 2012. I'd place her chances at the GOP nomination between slim & none, unless somehow she appoints herself Ted Stevens' replacement for Senator & starts hogging the political oxygen in DC as Obama's next-door nagging neighbor a la Gladys Kravitz, who always had a different story to tell on the Stevenses Samantha & Derwood.

If the Gimpy Old Party wants to continue the Right-Wing radicalism that has prevailed for the last eight years, then Sarah's their girl! Let's hope that they keep up the same old ideas & let's not forget the Bush Doctrine Part II now taking place in Syria & Pakistan. Maybe with those ideals we will never vote another Republican President ever again!

On the way out of Evansville today I was stuck for a moment behind a typical Obama supporter. The back of her little VW had more than a half dozen bumper stickers on it (2 obama/bidens, a peace sign, pro-choice, WWF, and some more). I would say she was college age or just over, at least 100#s over weight, with some hair that had not been washed in a few years. As I passed her she gave me a nasty look as she lit her cigarette....she's probably banking on Obama bringing in national health care.

Goes to show what you know, which isn't much. Right wing radicalism has not occurred in the last 8 years, quite the opposite. Bush II has further advanced the Clinton agenda, and your Marxist Manchurian Democrat deceiver in Hussein Barry will further advance this country into a total Socialist-Marxist state with his agenda of tax and spend with no accountability, if he is elected.......which is in doubt.

My point is on a constitutional basis. The US Constitution has been trashed the last 16 or so years.

The Constitution has been shredded in the last 8 years with the illegal wire-tapping, an occupation in a foreign country that was never a threat to us & spending money we didn't have for it, the list is endless but everyone knows the situation by now so why keep repeating the obvious? And if you're implying that the McCain supporters are thin, beatiful models could you please tell me which channel you're watching? All I've seen are a bunch of whacko rednecks & blonde "ladies" !
