As in the halcyon days of Big Dave & Jingles Englehart, Washingtonians figure to be rolling up the sidewalks & asking the last to leave town to shut off the lights as we all march merrily to back Barack tomorrow at the FairGrounds Coliseum. What time & on whose dime does the Caravan commence?

After the Obama rally at the historic Coliseum the Pacers are playing Memphis in an old-school ABA retro-style classic event. Washington, the City of Champions & Indianapolis, the City of the three-time World Champion Pacers -- meet the soon-to-be undefeated Champion of the emerging New World Order. See y'all there!

Wish I was going, but alas motherly duties interfere. Just a reminder that no umbrellas allowed so bring rain slickers, etc. Only one entrance into the venue so give yourselves plenty of time. Have a great time & bring the fire back to Washington to gear up for the home stretch!

Great crowd turned out despite the rain, klynnrn. Oddly, as soon as Obama's caravan of bullet-proof-but-modestly-sized cars hit the FairGrounds the sprinkling stopped & the sun came out! Evan Bayh charged up to the stage more animatedly than I've ever seen him. Even ol' Birch showed up from Terre Haute to lend support to the man from the Land of Lincoln. Scads of moms w/ kids were there talking about mammograms & other healthy stuff.

Saw the speech by Barack & Evan and felt the "could have been" feeling but I think that EB may yet be part of the Obama Cabinet due to some cowing to the Clintons I'm sure! Great to have you back.

While I hate to rain on the feel-good pieces of this thread, it is worth pointing out that the location of the rally was a nice piece of strategy on Barack's part. If you know Indy, you'll know that the fairgrounds and coliseum are located very close to "the hood," if you will. I'm sure turnout was impacted by a considerable number of unemployed people with nothing more to do than attend, and who make their voting decisions based on nothing more than race. That sounds awful to suggest, but think about it.

Dunno what kind of cat-code the word "Unemployed" is supposed to mean, but the crowd was fully integrated & represented a cross-section of the CrossRoads of America. The jobless & the illegally-employed were equally present. The Rednecks For Obama set up a table on the left, & the Ballers for Barack put on a dribbling display on the right-hand side of the entrance.

Can I vomit now? If anyone wonders why people are being called racists, read this post!

Racist? Wow. That's a pretty strong reaction although it does fit well with the knee-jerk reactions to things most people add to the forum. Think what you will, but you're way off target.

Thanks for the links. I didn't read them. Indiana is a battleground state, so "they" say, and the attention of both candidates is focused here accordingly. I'm glad you can speak for the entire state when you claim to enjoy the "heapin' helpin'."

Oh, "unemployed" means "nothing better to do."

You weren't expected to -- Ballers For Barack & RedNecks 4 Obama are doggone self-explanatory, doncha think? They represent the winning of hearts & minds that the man from the Land of Lincoln has masterfully managed to accomplish.

Hoosiers're fed up w/ pointy-headed Southern Men With Northern Principles (not to mention Arkansas Ma Hillary) meddling in foreign entanglements. It's time for the heartland once again to take center stage & keep an eye on those whose heads would rear up against working men & women.

I resemble that remark. What w/ the out-of-town gang bored w/ themselves & itching to come back, my fine feline friend-or-fink, we need to watch each others' backs in defending American values.

Fear not, old friend. I fink not! Just weighing in with my sometimes strong opinion, as you do so well. Change is due, but I am discouraged by the choices we're given to say the least. I've got your back, as usual, so don't goad me or I'll start using 3 Amigo speak!
