News reports say Senator Barack Obama will suspend his campaign to visit the grandmother who raised him in Hawaii, who has broken her hip.

Funny thing is, Hoosiers are being hyped that Obama will appear in Indy tomorrow Thursday, when he's supposed to be visiting his grandma. How will he accomplish both tasks in the same day? Winning Indiana is an important achievement for Obama, but we Hoosiers can surely give him an excused absence for visiting an ailing grandparent, can't we?

It is my understanding the Senator Obama is in Indiana as I write this.

Dear JB, he will make the 8 hour flight to Hawaii after the Indy rally today. He will be returning to the campaign trail on Saturday. This may be the last chance for Barack to see his G-ma before she passes so we in the campaign have to be understanding.

Thanks, klynnrn. We Hoosiers can feel gratified that our next-door-neighbor from Illinois takes our support so seriously as to come back home again to Indiana & work for our votes (mine's already been cast, natch). Obama obviously values loyalty & appreciation to his grandmother, but it's good to know he keeps working tirelessly up to the final minute before taking this understandable brief two-day suspension of the endless campaign.

O's schedule:
1, Indiana Thursday plus 8 hour flight to the Islands (Thursday's over)
2, Resume kissing babies Saturday.

How does that add up to a two day visit with ailing grandma?

Why are we splitting hairs? I don't know what time it will be in Hawaii when he arrives but assume that he would be able to see her tonight & tomorrow before heading back. I doubt his
G-ma would want him to spend much more time than this at this critical time in the campaign that's if she will even be aware of his visit.

The McCain campaign is so desperate they'll even scoff at Barack Obama visiting his grandmother. When did John McCain last visit his grandma -- when Little Red Riding Hood was written? Before or after the Golden Gate Bridge was built? About the time Big Dave DeJernett began hooping it up for the Harlem GlobeTrotters?

Is Barack back in action? Wonder how soon the Illinoisan will be back in our state serving heartland Hoosier voters? John McCain haplessly spent a day in Iowa recently selling his opposition to Ethanol to deaf ears. McCain actually thinks he can win Indiana w/out visiting us & asking for our vote. Let's show McSame we won't be fooled again.

His grandparents should be a big part of his story, seeing how his mother spent most of his childhood living with foreign men in foreign countries instead of raising her son. The Obama ad focosing on how his mother raised him is just a little window into what kind of deceptive person he is.

Er, Taint, it's a might funny to complain about furriners when our own best & brightest boys & girls have been plunged into the neverending quagmires of Iraq & Afghanistan, 'tain't it? BTW, welcome to the rootin' tootin' WTH Forum! At least Obama, like Boss SpringSteen, was born in the USA; McCain was born on soil our country felt forced to give back.

America is the most-foreign country in the world. Our strength lies in our willingness to embrace change which throughout our national history has obviously been helped along by courageous immigrants & the Afro-American Great Migration of the past century itself.

OK, so what's your problem with McCain being born elsewhere?

I'm still sore over having to give back the Panama Canal. John McCain's birth in Panama symbolizes the Teddy Roosevelt policy of whacking small countries w/ a big stick. It worked for a while in Panama & Cuba, but not anymore. We had to give the Philippine Islands back, too, after fighting insurgents there for decades. That mentality led us straight into the ambush of Viet Nam.

We've managed to keep Puerto Rico in the fold, & of course Hawaii where Obama was born in the USA. Any Puerto Rican who comes to live on the mainland is automatically a US citizen; wonder how long it will be before somebody born in Puerto Rico mounts a serious run for the Presidency as McCain has?

Does it really matter whom was born where? Are they not both US citizens? As far as his Grandma goes, perhaps Obama was there to see her and like a real, loving grandma would say, " Go back to your Campagin son, make a granny proud". That's what I would say to my grnadson. Quit picking the guy apart for little things.

So the whole time you've been raggin on McCain about being born in Panama, it had absolutely nothing to do with McCain himself. What a crock. JB you are truly a narrow minded Liberal that will find anything to gripe about McCain. Even the above mentioned. At least you fianlly came out about it. Now you sound more childish than before. Like McCain had a choice of where he was born. Damn man!
