Apparently an application for a job in Obama's new administration is pretty in-depth. Talk about CYA!
quote:
"If you keep or have ever kept a diary that contains anything that could suggest a conflict of interest or be a possible source of embarrassment to you, your family, or the President-Elect if it were made public, please describe."
Applicants are asked whether they or anyone in their family owns a gun.
They must include any e-mail that might embarrass the president-elect, along with any blog posts and links to their Facebook pages.
The application also asks applicants to “please list all aliases or ‘handles’ you have used to communicate on the Internet.â€
Under “Domestic Help,†the questionnaire asks the immigration status of applicants’ housekeepers, nannies, chauffeurs and yard-workers, and whether applicants have paid the required taxes for household employees.
Most information must cover at least the past decade, including the names of anyone applicants lived with; a chronological list of activities for which applicants were paid; real estate and loans over $10,000, and their terms, for applicants and spouses; net worth statements submitted for loans, and organization memberships
All gifts over $50 that they and their spouses have received from anyone other than close friends or relatives must be identified.
Seriously? When I applied for a Top Secret security clearance with the government, it wasn't half as detailed!

I like it... weed out the freaky ones who might be damaging to the administration. This administration will start out with a tremendous amount of skepticism and criticism and anyone who could be an embarrassment to them should not be allowed through the gates. I hope it is a sign that they are looking for the best people who can perform without having to deal with some craziness from their past. That might not be easy, what with the internet being what it is. I don't know if I could pass the test.

So I guess if you've been a productive employee of the federal government or the DNC, but you chat on Hey Martha under the screen name "Hillary4ever" or own a handgun, you'd best not even apply.
In can understand the CYA concern, especially after what we've seen with the past two administrations, and even this campaign, but owning a hunting rifle or submitting copies of your diary pages where you write about your secret crush on the Bush twins . . . seriously?

Its a good thing iam not looking for a job.. there apears to be some questions that are not the buisness of an employer there fore i would not answer them.. like PGD said my TSBI was not that extensive and i know the FBI personaly talked to a number of people before i was granted my top seceret security clearance..... and one older couple(60 something years old) who the FBI questioned about me was scared s**tless that i was in some kind of trouble i would hate to see what the questioning of a estranged family member would be like
on a side note obama is reportedly concidering H. Clinton for Sec. of State... her application would be an interesting read to say the least

List all aliases or handles you have used on the internet? that obama guy has been watching too much Smokey and the Bandit. The last time I had a "handle", was in the 70's while using a CB! And all the truckers kept saying "Get off the airwaves you darn little squirrel!".

No. As a matter of fact it's very ENID SPECIFIC. It has reference to the same radio call I've made over Enid more times than I can count - actually the last air traffic control "call" you'd make before landing at Vance.

I see. Never did any military flying, but went through the Lahoma Corridor several times as a private pilot. So it's similar to "calling final" such as after the downwind leg?

Yeah, it's the final approach fix for the ILS approach at Vance. So, the IFR equivalent of the base-to-final call.

Employers are looking at a lot of things such as myspace pages and facebook. My daughter had a silly email address that she used forever. Now that she is in college she has a more grown up one that she can put on a resume and is more careful about other things as well.
