Top Al Qaeda Leader Abu Ubaida al-Masri Confirmed Dead in Pakistan

Abu Ubaida al-Masri, one of Al Qaeda's top operatives and the mastermind behind a plot to use liquid explosives to blow British passenger jets out of the sky, is dead, a U.S. official confirmed to FOX News Wednesday.

The unidentified official said it is believed that al-Masri died of natural causes, possibly hepatitis, in Pakistan, and are staying away from a report that he was killed in a January CIA predator strike.

At the time of his death, the Egyptian-born al-Masri was responsible for the terror organization’s external operations, focusing on plotting attacks outside the tribal areas of Pakistan.



Al-Masri is tied to two major terrorist plots.

The first being the July 7, 2005, London subway bombing, in which al-Masri recruited, trained and directed four homicide bombers in a coordinated attack on London's transportation system. In the attack, known as the 7/7 Bombings, three bombs exploded during morning rush-hour within 50 seconds of each other on three London Underground trains. A fourth bomb exploded on a bus nearly an hour later. The attack left 52 commuters dead, and more than 700 injured. It was the largest and deadliest terror attack on London in its history.

The second plot, in August, 2006, involved the use of liquid explosives smuggled aboard several airliners traveling from London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports to major cities in the U.S. and Canada with the intention of detonating the bombs in midair, destroying at least 10 aircraft.

(Denver, Colorado)—One day when Kristi Burton was 13-years-old and nursing a cold at home, she read a book on community service while watching the 2000 elections on television. "It just came to me," said Burton, of the out-of-the-blue call to defend the unborn that day. "I prayed about it and knew God was calling me to do it."

Now 20, Burton is the leader of a Colorado "personhood" ballot initiative to define a constitutionally protected person as "any human being from the moment of fertilization."

According to a report in the Denver Post, Burton thinks the organization she started with her family, Colorado for Equal Rights, is close to having the 76,000 voter signatures needed by May 13 to trigger a statewide vote on a constitutional amendment.

Keith Mason, a founder of Michigan Citizens for Life, said: "In Colorado, we're a small grassroots campaign started by a 19-year- old. I relish that. Kristi is exactly what we needed. She is a breath of fresh air. She has a pure heart. Her quiet demeanor wins people over."

Burton acknowledges that her up-bringing (she was home-schooled) had a great deal to do with her passion for the unborn. "My mom had a broader, more compassionate perspective on how people make the decision to have an abortion," she said. "It's not just about the child, she'd say. It's about the mother, too."

CARTHAGE, Mo. -
Storms on Wednesday and Thursday morning dumped heavy rains across the area, pushing streams and rivers toward flood stage.

The National Weather Service in Springfield said the Spring River in Carthage is headed for a crest between 12 and 13 feet sometime around midnight Thursday night and Friday morning.

Flood stage is 10 feet and the river was at 9.25 feet as of 8:45 a.m., according to the gauge on North Garrison Street.

Flooding was reported on Missouri Highway 37 and on a variety of county routes east of Carthage as of 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Jason Schauman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said 1- to 3-inch rainfall amounts were common across the area.

The weather service's gauge at the Joplin Regional Airport recorded 7.19 inches of rain between 2 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.

One of the worst earthquakes in decades

Quit rolling your eyes so much, you are the one distorting the facts and words of others to make it "appear" that you are correct.
It's not a "normal day" but as far as earthquakes go, it's probably a normal decade. This earthquake will possibly not even rank in the top 10 most destructive earthquakes in Chinese History. The death-toll alone is an amazingly small number compared to past quakes of even lower magnitude.

Secrets, you are a fool and a fraud.
