Agreed about hijacking the thread.

I don't have a myspace.

But to get back on topic, Kansas is getting beat at the half by lowly Iowa St. 20-0

I hope they come back.

Thanks for posting the famous Nebraska "bounce pass", which we named it because the ball touched the ground twice.

Here are some highlights from the last time Mizzou won in Lincoln--look for #73 on the victorious sideline at the end--that's me.

Pete, you might be on the beer thread tonight celebrating. Thank's for the memories, that never existed in my head. Big Grin Perhaps today it might change.

I was talking to my dad about the '78' game and he said Missouri took National Title hopes away from us that year.

Good to see you in the clip Pete!

Yeah, we got a little bit lucky, because they had a hell of a team that year. They played Oklahoma and beat them the week before--that was an OU team that stomped us and had the Heisman Trophy winner--Billy Sims. So Nebraska was still a little beat-up from that game.

And we bench-warmers had an important job that day--I can't ever remember being so cold. That artificial turf was like concrete, and felt like broken glass if you landed on it.

I played in the junior-varsity game the Thursday before that game--it was bitter cold and an afternoon game, and Nebraska still had 30,000 people show up to watch!! Plus they suited up about 150 guys--we had just 43 on our JV, and a couple of guys got hurt, so I played both ways. I think we only lost 78-14. Big Grin

Yeah, it was ugly all right. They had guys who were walk-ons who knew they only would have maybe one or two series to show the coaches what they could do on film. So I was seeing a new, fresh guy on either side who was psyched up--and probably raging on steroids. Meanwhile, I'm playing the whole game at right tackle on offense, and my backup was hurt, plus I'm filling in at D-tackle because two guys got knocked out early. And Nebraska was putting on a track meet. Wink

Ah well. Too bad, so sad. 52-17--sorry Husker fans! But you had it your way long enough--29 straight wins over us in Lincoln is plenty. And you still lead the series 65-36, so don't cry too much.

We have to get ready for OSU next week and they look tough. We can only hope Texas and OU beat each other's brains out so we can squeak out a win in Austin the following week.

I would be happy with any of the possible outcomes: Chase Daniel wins the Heisman, becoming the first Mizzou player ever to win one, or finishing with a national championship for the first time since the 60's, or kicking the CRAP out of OU in the Big 12 Championship. If any one of those three things happen, I will be ecstatic. If all three happen, I'm putting all my savings into lottery tickets, because it proves the impossible can happen! Big Grin
