I grew up inna small town called Moore OKlahoma, just about 15 miles north of Norman Oklahoma that is home to OU. I have complete confidence that Missouri will recieve a thrshing when they play OU. Watch out for OSU they are undefeated and look tough, but so does Mizzou. As far as Nebraska, they just ain't what they used to be w/out ol' Tom Osborne.
The Red River shootout is always tense, pensive and full of volatile angst. I love football. I played for 12 years, even had a good team while in the military.Legally hurting someone has such a sense of gratification it should be illegal.

Mizzou has OSU and Texas back to back--but I'm hoping OU can soften Texas up a bit before Mizzou plays them. And I would give away the Heisman for Chase Daniel and the national championship just to see Mizzou STOMP those arrogant co_cksuckers in Norman! I'll have to settle for watching them do it at Arrowhead in the Big12 Championship.

Shouldn't have been looking past OSU. Mizzou manages to find a way to lose the big ones.

They flat got outplayed, and every single break seemed to go OSU's way. Mizzou was only able to capitalize on one out of four turnovers. And Pinkel opting for the field goal early shows a basic lack of understanding--you can't play it safe when you are playing for a national championship, #1 in the polls, and a possible Heisman. All those possibilities vanished for Mizzou tonight..Chase Daniels threw two game-breaking interceptions late, and he can say bye-bye Heisman.

I missed the game but it looks like I'm glad I did.

I had to go to the store this morning and by a new remote for the TV...

Something weird happened yesterday, I got back into town and flipped on the tube to see how the game was going. I thought that the Chiefs were hosting the Titans in KC, but when I got to that channel I saw that the Titans were in fact in Arrowhead Stadium, but they were apparently playing the Lee Summit Jr. High Badminton club. I was shocked to see how badly the Titans were misusung the poor little guys, those big bruisers seem to have no shame.

The Titans should be ashamed of themselves, and someone needs to locate the Chiefs and get them back on the field!

Talk about a yawner. And apparently I'm not the only one who was having a hard time caring. This is going to be one of the lowest rated series of all time.

I'm surprised anyone got to see the world series since Obama had it bumped so he could have his little thirty minute speech...that is simply unamerican to bump the world series for a stupid speech...next thing you know he'll be outlawing apple pie and hot dogs...I didn't watch the speech...I watched paint dry..very interesting.

Oh that's right, the Obama infomercial was on tonight too, wasn't it? Was Ron Popeil there? Billy Mays? Can't be a true infomercial without them!

Not like anyone outside Philadelphia or Tampa was inconvenienced though, based on ratings numbers. I believe the World Series was watched by eleven people not living in either of those two cities.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Five Florida State wide receivers will miss Saturday night’s homecoming game against Boston College for their roles in a midweek campus fight, coach Bobby Bowden said Friday.

Taiwan Easterling, Bert Reed, Corey Surrency, Cameron Wade and Richard Goodman will sit out Saturday’s crucial Atlantic Coast Conference contest.

“The police report has not been concluded but from the information that I have gathered, I’m suspending five players who were apparently involved,” Bowden said
Maj. James Russell of the Florida State University Police Department said Bowden’s decision was based on independent information obtained by the coach and that the department’s investigation was going forward.

Russell said no arrests were imminent, but that he expected multiple charges sometime next week based on results from the investigation.

“You have to piece through the truths, inaccuracies and outright lies,” he said.

Russell had earlier said the melee apparently stemmed from bad blood between some of the athletes and members of the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.

No charges have been announced by campus police, who are trying to find out who threw a chair that injured a female bystander during Wednesday’s altercation.

The incident infuriated the school’s trustees who were meeting Friday in Tallahassee.

“There’s a problem,” said trustees chairman Jim Smith. “We’re kind of fed up with it.”

Easterling is the team’s leading receiver with 26 catches and has been a favorite target for sophomore quarterback Christian Ponder. Easterling, Reed and Surrency have combined for 51 catches good for 722 yards and eight touchdowns — four by Surrency.

The suspensions leave senior wideout Greg Carr and juniors Rod Owens and Preston Parker as the remaining experienced receivers. Junior college transfer Louis Givens and freshman Jarmon Fortson are likely to see increased playing time.

It’s the seventh game this season that the Seminoles (7-2, 4-2 ACC) will be without suspended players. Nineteen different athletes have now been suspended for at least one game for a violation of team or university policy.

The latest incident couldn’t come at a much worse time for the school as the NCAA is in the process of deciding Florida State’s fate for a classroom cheating scandal in 2007 that involved some five dozen athletes, including two dozen football players.

“If I’m sitting up there in Indianapolis (at NCAA headquarters) looking at this, I’d say ’those guys down there aren’t taking this thing very serious,”’ Smith said.

It’s the third suspension in a month for Reed and the second for Surrency, a 24-year-old junior college transfer. Reed’s first suspension was for skipping classes. The other suspensions for Reed and Surrency were for unspecified violations of team rules.

“The suspensions don’t seem to be working very well,” Smith said Friday. “You’ve got to be a good citizen. You can’t go around beating people up.”
