Biden has one of the most consistently anti-gun voting records on Capitol Hill. He recalled during a July 23, 2007 Democrat candidates debate how he was “the guy who originally wrote the assault weapons ban,” while overlooking the fact that the legislation, passed in 1994, combined with passage of the Brady Act in 1993, brought furious gun owners to the polls in record numbers and cost Democrats control of Congress for 14 years.

Firearms owners were already wary of Obama after he told a Pittsburgh newspaper earlier this year that he is opposed to concealed carry, a remark that insulted millions of legally armed, law-abiding citizens. Now Obama has picked Mr. Biden, who was quoted by the Associated Press in November 1993 observing, “Banning guns is an idea whose time has come.”

Democrats have spent years trying to woo the gun owner vote. Biden’s selection for the vice presidential slot signals Democrats have become the Gigolo Party.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with banning certain guns and common sense gun control. It is in no way against the Constitution of the United States.

Who cares what the constitution says. It's not as if it hasn't been changed almost 30 times already.

An ole Viet Vet one early Nov morn in SE Okla on his stand waiting for El Grande. First recognizable sound at 1st light was an AR rip off about 10 rounds in few sec. Now that we don't need, nor do we need weapons of choice available to gang-bangers in DC, NYC, CHI, DFW, LA, etc. The conceal weapon get me nervous know some of the folks in area who are legally packing. Much rather have law which requires packers to pack it visibly. Nothing like a momma packing visible heat!! My gun safe has more guns than most and I feel very confident in being able to keep them when Obama/Biden win
the election.

I believe Biden was addressing the ban of assault rifles when he made that statement, not guns in general.

How odd you would say this did you know that AZ is an open carry state? Humm and who do we know that is in this race from AZ? I have a CCW they don’t just give them away you know we have to go through training and a nice background check. In an open carry situation you lose a tactical advantage. If me carrying a concealed weapon makes you nervous tough **** it is my right to legally do so. Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have them.

Outlaws are going to have guns, whether they are outlawed, or not. I
do not have a CCW permit, but I do carry from time to time. The reason I
do not subscribe to permits, is because when I do carry, I do not want
anyone, government or otherwise to know I am carrying. The Second Amen.
already gives me permission to carry a weapon/gun, so I see no need for
an additional "permit". That's just one more way for the government to
track me.

I agree with you in theory however I do acknowledge the necessity to not allow criminals to carry weapons. In most states it is only a misdemeanor if you are caught carrying without a permit unless you are committing an other crime and have a weapon that is.

You'd think that big boys with so many guns wouldn't be so scared....you'd be wrong.

The problem with concealed carry laws is the negative impact they have on law enforcement in urban areas. Many gang members, drug dealers, and other elusive criminals are arrested, prosecuted, and imprisoned because they've been caught carrying guns. Often, police who have been unable to gather evidence against such individuals for their primary crimes are able to get them off the streets because of laws banning concealed carry.

This is not to say I support banning the carrying of weapons, only that the issue is more nuanced than many stop to consider. On one hand, law abiding citizens should have the ability to legally carry weapons that they may use for their own defense. On the other hand, I would hate for law enforcement to lose this valuable tool for removing criminals from society.

No matter who wins the presidency or how many Supreme Court justices are appointed by that victor, two things can be certain.

The right to bear arms will never be lost, nor has there even been a threat that it will.

A woman's right to privacy will never be lost, as it pertains making decisions about her body.

These are wedge issues, but the reality is, they both are permanent and there is never going to be a legal precedent that can result in their being lost.

Get rid of all the guns. I've got no problem with that. But it'll never happen. Should have happened centuries ago.

Thats a little optomistic, The fear isn't that guns will go from legal one day to outlawed the next, Thats unlikely to happen.

What is likely is a gradual erosion like what is happening in California and has already happened in Great Britian and Australia. Given time it'll eventually happen to the point that all but single shot shotguns and 22lr. pistols are the only thing legal to own.

And what would be the problem with that? What would be the problem if as a citizen you were allowed to select from 5 or 6 types of hunting rifles and a couple of handguns for self defense?
