I posted this in another forum and decided to come here as well. I just want to start something off topic and see who and how interesting this can get. Basically it's about your favorite toy or toys you had as a child,..or still have. Don't be ashamed if it's something you think may be unpopular. The way I see it is everyone has different tastes and likes and dislikes. So come on folks, have a lil' fun!!!

Well i will start this thing off. I am still a big kid at heart even at 33 yrs of age. I still play video games and collect toys (mainly Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr.diecasts and Hot Wheels cars). But my favorite toys growing up were my G.I. Joe figures and vehicles. I have lots of of the figures in an old shoe box in the closet and I found the vehicles and planes awhile back. While cleaning them up, I couldn't help but just go back in time a little bit. But most of, if not all of the figures and other stuff I have, believe it or not, is in very good shape. As a matter of fact, the majority of all my old toys from my childhood are all in good shape. The reason being is that I was brought up to take care of what you got, 'cause when it's tore up,..it's gone. Most of them now are pretty valuable now,...may try to sell them on E-Bay or something,..we will see!!!

I had to buy my own favorite toy. It was a Barbie doll. The orginial one. I save my money and work doing earns. Then I begged my parents to take me to the other side of town to a flower shop to get it. They said no so I took my bike and went on an adventure. I crossed two big streets to get that doll.

I was 9 years old. I almost got my tail end busted for doing it but it was well worth it. I sure loved that Barbie doll. Later I got a Ken and another doll. They went everywhere I went.

Mother gave them to my sister and they got put in the trash. I sure wish I had those dolls now. They are worth some money now. Of course they were to me then to cause I only got 25 cent a week for allowence. So I had to save an work real hard to get them. But it was worth it. I have fond memories of Barbie now! I had a brownish-red stuffed doggie named Rusty. That's my brother's name. He worked great as a pillow! I loved him.

I went through about three or four "Booby Trap" games back in oh, late 60's, early 70's. A wooden frame (no plastic back then!) with a spring/handle thingy going on, and a bunch of brightly colored wooden pegs. Object was to remove pegs without tripping the spring. Or something like that. Boy, that was ages ago!

And Pickup-Sticks! Loved those, too. I saw some at Rite-Aid yesterday and almost bought them. I'm sure they're plastic now, too...

Bosslady here a few years ago my sisters and my brother got together. We got some jacks and tiddley winks and pick up sticks. Oh and old maid card. They had really changed.

the pick up sticks were really hard now. I'm not as steady as I use to be.

Jacks I lost some fingers so I didn't do much good on them either.

To heck with tiddley winks.

Now old maid I aced. Wink

Those that I can remember was Legos...I had an entire town of Legos. I also had two buckets of Hot Wheels to go along with the Lego town. Then I got an Atari and eventually a regular Nintendo.

My favorite was my Cabbage Patch Kids. I loved them so much! I had two that my mom kept in the boxes, and then I had three that I got to play with. I made the neighbor boys play house all the time. We had an atari also. I LOVE FROGGER!

Oh Lord, Jen, don't mention Frogger. My kids had that game and the music about drove me crazy. I'd tell them to turn the sound off, but that usually only lasted a few minutes. Smiler

My favotire toys as a kid were my Terri Lee and Jerri Lee dolls. I had Tiny Terri & Tiny Jerri also. My mom made lots of clothes for them. I sold them for a pretty good price several years ago. Wisely I purchased savings bonds with the money and they have now matured, so I figure I got twice as much for the dolls. I still have several dolls in case someday the grand-daughters want something that belonged to Grandma.

Hi peaches! Frogger does have an annoying sound. It is addictive though. I have been playing Tetris on my cellphone lately. I can't stop. I play until my fingers hurt!

My brother loved GI Joe's, and Transformers. Also loved the Lincoln Logs. My girls play with these now.

Do you guys remember the game Trouble and Sorry!?

My husband got these for my kids and they love it. I played those when I was kid.
