Maybe I should come after-all my name is Annie and my last name could be Oakley. HA HA

Oh well enjoy the day and don't shoot yourselves in the foot or HMMMMMMMM anywhere else.

When I talked with katomur the other day, he's the one that mentioned upcoming graduations over the next few weeks and lots of people will be attending those. That's the main reason we think pushing the date back to the 29th would be best. Graduations will be over and the 4th of July won't be here yet. Wink

Anyone from these forums is more than welcome to join us for a fun filled afternoon.

I found out who's in charge of the sportsman club I've shot at in past years, so I need to make a phone call and find out some details. I'll try to get that done this weekend.

I'm in the dark...ahem, just like you. Seems funny to have the moderators pull an entire thread, perhaps they are anti-free speech or teasing is somehow against forum rules.

Oh, silly me....it amazes me sometimes where my mind goes. Well, better my mind than anything else....

Onward to the 29th!

Howdy all!

Dave: it's your brother-in-law Chad. (Yes, this is my screen name.)

I have not had time to keep up with the forums of late as we just moved to Mankato (dunno if you knew that or not)

Anyway, I just picked up my first ever RIFLE a few days ago and CAN'T WAIT to give it a try. It is a brand-spankin-new Russian AK Saiga, 7.62 x 39. I got one box of ammo, but I'll get more before going anywhere as that will likely last all of three seconds.

I snagged it at the Red Bear Hunting Emporium. Pretty nifty place.

Anyway, unless I'm dead I'm IN for the shooting event(s) whenever they may be!

you seem real proud of your new purchase and i have no problem with you owning what sounds like a good weapon

i'm not a gun guy but do have a curiousity

you mention red bear hunting emporium and i would guess this is a private company

why does the omb report for 2002 state that rbhe received $127,000 in federal funding? in 2006 the figure was $37,000

no reports in the years between

does anybody on this thread who has interest in guns know why a gun store would get that kind of money from the feds

thanks in advance for any info

Harry,

What is the omb?

Also, are you sure that you are talking the same Red Bear Hunting? I don't know if you are aware of the type of business this is or not. It is a small father and son business in the flood plain ... xcuse me Mike L ... former flood plain in lower North Mankato. I think the kind of dollars you are talking would buy this business.

It could be possible that Rick received a small business loan to buy the business from his father, but neither acts like they have that kind of money. I've done quite a bit of business with them over the years, and they seem like regular small gun shop guys - hand to mouth.

omb is office of management and budget, White House office responsible for devising and submitting the president's annual budget proposal to Congress.

thanks for the info

i find no other reference anywhere to rbhe, so assume it's the same as referred to earlier

SWEET!

I heard late this week that y'all had moved, but didn't get any details.

I scored a half an ammo can of .45 acp rounds from the wifes' little brother this afternoon. Got over 500 rds of brand new WWB 230 gr. fmj for $50. Cool

Next purchases are;
a case of 7.62x39
a couple boxes of Blue Rock
a 'economy pack' of 12 ga. shells
a holster for my M1911A1.

Big Grin

I tried calling the guy about the sportsman club, but got an answering machine. Hopefully he'll call me, so I don't have to pester him. Razzer

I stopped down to RiverRidge Gun Club this afternoon to check on prices for sporting clays. I think they are fairly reasonable and they have a great course. 100 Rounds for around $30, check out their website http://www.riverridgegunclub.com/clays.htm
You may not be able to fire all your guns but it is still a good time. I think I will plan on going to Courtland unless someone comes up with a better place to shoot.
