I just realized I have a new channel on my Dishnetwork listing. The channel name... OBAMA. 24 hours of Obama. Yeehaw.

My wife pointed that out to me last night. I was gonna post something about it today and forgot. Unbelievable. LOL...Channel 73 on Dish (at least on my receiver).

Are you serious? Two questions:

1: Why?

2: Whose paying for it?

I seen that last night Wolfie. I couldn't believe it and like Sandra, I wonder who is paying for it??? I have not even looked at it to see what was taking place. I just noticed it on my listings...

Yeah, I saw that tonight for the first time also. I wrote a hot email to the below address telling them of my disapproval, and asking them where the funds are coming from. I also made some mention of pulling the dish out by the wires and setting it next to the road for the garbage to pick up, after I have used it for target practice.... Feel free to pass the below email around, let um know we're here....

It replays Obama's 'plan for America' 24 hours a day. I may do like Piper1 and write Dish about adding this crap channel on my programming when they won't add something worth while. I didn't ask for it and don't want it.

Goodness gracious, don't we already see enough of this?? Just watch the baseball playoffs!!!

Why? Obvious

Whose paying for it? I suppose that would partially be Dish Network subscribers since they are paying for the programming.

So much for Dish Network programming in my house. Never happen.

My advice to you who are bothered by it would be to use the nifty little favorites feature to block that channel from showing up at all - problem solved. No sense in getting worked up over something that's so easily ignored.

Let the man waste his money on a pointless TV channel, that's a few dollars less he'll have to spend somewhere else.

I got a reply back from Dish. Here it is...

We appreciate your email. The Obama channel is paid advertising by the Obama campaign and is not an endorsement of Senator Obama by DISH Network. This space has been purchased similar to any other channel we broadcast, and any other candidate who wishes to purchase a channel through DISH Network will be given the same opportunity. At this time, no other candidates have showed interest in purchasing a channel.
