doing good. Between your screen name, job and your hubby being an ex-Chrysler worker it was pretty easy. I heard there have been problems with continuing education, hopefully they can get that worked out. How close is the Layoff coming to you? or has it hit you already?

Haha, guess I'm not as clever as I thought Smiler I haven't been laid off as of yet. I think after this 150 that we're losing I may be in the bottom 150. I'm not exactly sure though.

Well Hon, I wish you all the best at work, and you hubby good luck in what ever he chooses to do. How are the girls? Did they get over their flu?

The girls are great! Had a good Christmas and haven't been sick again *THANK GOD* Thanks for asking...how are yours? Having a good school year??

While we are all glad u 2 found each other on here and u r able to catch up -- please contact each other offline somehow and stop bogging down and getting this topic off-topic with what everyone else on here has zero interest in.

Back to the layoffs -- i feel for everyone affected and the worst is not over by any means. More and more global bad economic news comes out everyday and it affects Delphi significantly. As Delphi & Chrysler go so goes Kokomo - like it or not.

JB 2.0, amazing! Just one post and you're already my favorite poster on this site, for saying what needed to be said.

To make matters worse, there is talk of even more layoffs. Of course this is just talk on the floor, but I've learned that where there is talk, there is usually some amount of truth when it concerns layoffs at least...unfortunately for everyone.

My committeeman told me yesterday that Mr. Guggina himself said that there will be no more layoffs for a LONG while...HA! I seriously doubt that...we will see I guess.

You know a lot of people got laid off from Plant 10 months ago and nothing was on here about that or in the news headlines. They didnt get the $40,000 either because they werent Delphi employees (ouch!!) they worked threw Manpower and Kelly.Kinda served some of them right because they walked around with their noses in the air (some anyway) like they were someone.Come on they only made $8.50 thats nothing to put your nose in the air over.

So, the other day I was at my dad's house and there was a message on his answering machine from that same day. It was someone from Delphi calling to see, and I'm not joking, if he would come back to work for a few months. My dad has been retired for a couple of years now (he took the buyout a couple years ago)...does that strike anyone as strange, or am I missing something?

Advantageous Anticipation Again!

that is weird. Now what makes that person think that your dad would know, especially after being gone for so long. I imagine it was someone who was wondering if they should take the buy out being offer some of the newer employees that have been laid off. They are being offered a certain amount of money for each month that they worked there to separate from the company completely. They lose their recall rights of course when they do that.

Who ever it was must have been nearing the end of the timeline that they have to make such a decision.

I could be wrong but I was under the impression that there were retirees doing construction jobs temporarily. I know for sure that there are some but I might be incorrect about the construction part of it...
