I am a not sure how to tell the diffrence between Braxton-Hicks and a regular contraction, I am not full term and I freak out everytime I feel one. Any of you mommy's out there know how to tell the diffrence? I have called the Dr and I am waiting for them me to call me back, In the mean time-I'm freaking out. I am a nurse and sometimes knowing too much is not a good thing.

The Braxton Hicks should lessen if you walk or stand up or change positions. They also don't usually stay as regular and timeable like real contractions. Good Luck!!

I earned myself a trip to L&D(labor and delivery) for a NST (non stress test). I have an hour drive, looks like I am going to be there for the night. Just for the psycho's out there I'm not at any hospital in Kokomo. Wish me Luck!

I hate non stress tests. I had to have them 3 times a week for the last month with my daughter. She held on and waited until the due date.

How much longer do you have? Hopefully, everything will be just fine.

I personally have been having them since 22 wks & I'm currently 29 wks. Mine just consist of a pretty intense amount of pressure. Almost as if things are gonna "hit the floor". But as soon as I sit down and relax they go away. My daughter was born 5 wks early so at first they scared me, but now I've just learned to go with the flow and not to freak out about every little discomfort.

So pretty much, if when you relax they go away, your baby's not coming until another day Smiler

I'm fine. I got home from the hospital late, and slept in this morning. I am on bedrest until further notice. Thank God for my laptop and tv in the bedroom. Thanks everyone for your responses!

Glad to hear you are ok. I'm sure bedrest stinks, but at least everything is ok with baby and that's the most important thing! Plus you have more time to keep up on the drama around here....lol Wink

Sounds like nesting to me. You are really getting close. All of those things that need to be done--do you have enough energy to do them even though you are bedfast? I have had 4 all of them over 81/2#. Had braxton hicks with the first two. Meantime between 2 & 3 I worked at Howard Community. So when the time came for the other two I don't even remember if I had braxton hicks. Just think in a short time you will look at that little one and wonder at how active he/she is. I worked OB/GYN for a while and everytime I was helping in the delivery room and saw a precious life come into this world I shed a few tears. What a joy that was. Bless you and that tiny life inside you. Good luck, and don't for get to"BREATH" Wink
