I agree with the Clinton campaign raising the issue of electability with Obama, since he lost both Ohio and Pennsylvania, and his dismissive attitude about Florida/Michigan voters will lose him those states in a general election as well.

Moreover, consider that the reason why General Electric (owner of NBC/MSNBC), Rupert Murdoch (owner of Fox News, Wall Street Journal, AOL, etc.), Karl Rove, top Bush fundraisers and the conservative coalition are all covertly backing Obama's bid is because they know they can cancel him out later with a Rezko-related indictment.

Rezko is a longtime associate of Obama's currently on trial in Chicago for extortion and influence peddling. Patrick Fitzgerald, of Valerie Plame fame, is the prosecutor in the case. This is the same guy who failed to indict Rove or Cheney for their role in leaking Plame's C.I.A. identity to the press.

For more on the G.O.P. strategy, see the article I've posted at thecityedition.com. Here's a direct. http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Winter08/2008Election.html

Well, I see that dear Factcheck2 is at it again. He (or she) spins stories of a "vast rightwing conspiracy" that is building up Senator Obama, to prevent Senator Clinton from gaining the nomination. He throws in Karl Rove, for good measure, since he doesn't have a lot of Democratic fans.
It's pretty interesting, as far as fiction goes, but it doesn't really add up. Almost all conservative commentators (liberal ones, too, for that matter) agree that Senator Obama is a much tougher match up for Senator McCain. He forces Senator McCain to defend many states that would be red hands down if Senator Clinton is the nominee (Virginia, Washington, Colorado, Tennessee, etc.) Knowing this, leading conservatives have launched a campaign spearheaded by Rush Limbaugh and other shock jocks to get GOP voters to vote for Senator Clinton in the primary. If there is any "vast rightwing conspiracy", it is openly and actively SUPPORTING Senator Clinton.

Anyone who is even casually following the primary campaigns would agree with GeoffD.

If you think gas prices are too high vote for Clinton.

If you're worried about the economy or jobs vote for Clinton.

And if you want to win in November vote for Clinton.

And, if you think we should be ready to "obliterate" Iran, vote for Senator Clinton.

She will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to win in November. If you don't want President McCain, do your job Indiana!

How is her obliterate Iran policy any different from neo-cons on Iraq? Is this why she voted to authorize the Iraq war?

As a Jew and a supporter of Israel (and a target of the "obliterate Iran" pandering), I don't think this kind of threat and saber rattling makes Israel or America safer. Didn't we learn anything from 8 years of Bush? Obviously, Senator Clinton did not!

Shalom, I understand why you are concerned but by saying that there will not be a 3am call. She took care of it. Obama said he would attack Pakistan and that was even more idiotic. I didn't even know Obama before January and now that I'm starting to finally get some information I am really apprehensive. He may make a good president someday but he is not ready now. The Republicans are already attacking him. Sure, a lot of it is a blatant lie but he wilts under pressure and what else is out there that we don't know. If you want to win in November, you'll vote for Clinton.

Great we have all three Clinton campaign surrogates on one thread! Look at the posting histories of Factcheck2, Laura Ingalls and Talves. They are posting in all the Indiana "hEY mARTHA" sites. Read some of their previous postings. All a coordinated plan of Clinton misinformation and lies.

Lets see what is not true? Talves is NOT from California? Talves just regestered on this forum on April 25th? Talves ha not sent 93 anti-Obama posts? Talves does not use exact
"loaded" phrases on different community web sites in Indiana wwith the exact same misinformation? And the sniper fire was withering and she was nearly nicked in her pantsuit!

OK, everybody. Settle down. Sticks and stones may break our party...

By the way, Senator Clinton has now come up with a “fuel tax holiday”. Pure political genius. Obama calls it a “gimmick”. He just doesn’t get it. Excuse me, but what is politics? Isn’t it a question of who has the best gimmicks? Sure, it doesn’t solve the problem and it just puts off the day of reckoning and perhaps, as he says, it may even make the problem worse.
Unfortunately for Obama, the American voters love gimmicks and pandering; we hate lecturing. We don’t understand economic theory; we understand “tax holiday” and discount. We don’t want to save for tomorrow; we want the good life and we want it now. And Obama does not understand us. He does not yet understand how to do whatever it takes to win.

Laura, you have an amazing way of reducing everything to winning. It doesn't matter what policies you have and whether they are good or bad; it is always, only aout winning. Isn't that how our politics has become such a mess? Are you calling for more of the same? Is Senator Clinton?

I don't speak for the Clinton campaign, at least, not directly. But, I think I can say that winning is everything. It's not how you win or why but winning itself. America has always been this way and it always will be. Are the voters going to stop it? I think not, my naive little Rabbi.
